Answer: Louie Louie

Richard Berry wrote "Louie Louie" in 1955 and recorded it the following year.

In 1963, The Kingsmen recorded it and their version is the one most recognized today. It is considered by some a bridge between R&B and Rap. The Kingsmen recording was also investigated by the FBI as some believed it contained obscene lyrics, but this was unfounded. Instead, what happened was that because the lyrics were so nonsensical people thought they heard things that were not there.

So many have since recorded it that it is now one of the most recorded rock songs ever. Some of these covers were done by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, The Kinks, Bruce Springsteen, and The Wailers.

8. Who made the song "Tutti Frutti" popular in 1955?

Answer: Little Richard

Little Richard and Dorothy LaBostrie wrote "Tutti Frutti" in 1955. Little Richard was the first to record the song as well. It is most associated with him. A prototype of the song was written earlier with a lot of innuendos by Richard, which is why he asked LaBostrie to help him rewrite it, as it would never have made it on the radio in the 50s. In 1998, the song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

Since then artists such as Elvis Presley, New Order, Andre Rieu, and Galante have covered the song.

The song was used in the 1990 movie, "Ghost."
