In 1887, the Detroit Wolverines (National League) beat the Browns of St. Louis (American Association) ten games to five. It was the longest baseball world championship series in history. Bill Watkins was the manager of the Detroit Wolverines while Charles Comiskey managed the Saint Louis Browns.
