Gordon's first career win came in 1995 in the Coca-Cola 600. Gordon won the inagural race at Indianapolis. Gordon then won the 1995 Mountain Dew Southern 500, Daytona 500 in 1997, and the Winston 500 (first Talladega race) in 2000.
