Answer: Tom Landry

From the Dallas Texans of the AFL to the Cowboys of the NFL, Landry had the reins of the teams from 1960-1988. Tom took the team to four Super Bowls and won two.
2. Jackie Robinson broke the Major League color barrier in 1947 with the Brooklyn Dodgers of the National League. The first black player in the American League made his debut with the Cleveland Indians of the same season. Do you remember who it was?

Answer: Larry Doby

The others had not begun their Major League careers yet. Doby appeared in only 32 games in 1947, then hit .301 the following season and helped the Indians to a World Series victory against the Boston Braves in 1948.
3. In 1924, the National Hockey League expanded to six more teams. Which was the first American team to play in the NHL?

Answer: Boston Bruins

The National Hockey League was reorganized from the NHA, and in 1917 they fielded five teams. They were the Quebec Bulldogs, Montreal Wanderers, Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators, and Toronto Arenas. One of the six added in 1924, the Boston Bruins appeared in their first NHL game on November 21, 1924.

Anthony was the Tiger Woods of bowling; and rejuvenated the professional bowling circuit in the 1970s. He won 41 professional titles. He died on August 14th.

The Yankees won it all from 1949-1953. In 1953, it was the Yankees' 13th appearance in a World Series in a 18-year span.

Answer: 1939

March 27, 1939, began history for college basketball. While the University of Oregon would not see another championship for the rest of the century, Ohio State would wait until 1960 before winning their first championship over California.
