Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The series begins with Kryten consoling Lister over the tragic and untimely loss of . . . what?

Answer: the entire supply of curries and lager

But the good news is - the pasta survived. This did not quite meet Lister's cuisine standards, and he was desperate for a curry.
2. What size 'pizza' was made by Lee Harvey Oswald's demise?

Answer: 8 foot

When the crew arrived in the book depository, Lister knocked Oswald out of the window. Oswald tied himself to a wire for safety, and while climbing through the other window, was pulled out again by Lister as he was pulling the other end of the wire. The resulting accident caused a pizza-like splat on the pavement (sidewalk).
3. There was some confusion over the president's name. What name was discussed while the crew were in the book depository?

Answer: Jeff Kaye

Lister misheard Rimmer saying 'JFK' as 'Jeff Kaye'.
4. What did Princess Bonjella tell Ace he could call her?

Answer: Beryl

Ace Rimmer rescued the princess in a Bond-style epic, finishing with something only Ace could do - writing 'Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast' with the smoke trail of his flying motorbike. What a guy!
5. Ace trains Rimmer to become the next Ace; part of the training involves Rimmer searching deep within himself for his cougar. Unfortunately, the best Rimmer can conjour up is a small animal running around in a wheel in a cage. What was this animal?

Answer: Hamster

Ace had been mortally wounded in his light bee while rescuing Princess Bonjella, and came to get Rimmer to take his place as the next Ace in the chain. When leaving his crew mates, the new Ace utters the immortal words, 'Stoke me a clipper, I'll be back for Christmas . . . whatever.'
6. On what date is the baby found in a cardboard box beneath the grav-pool table in the Aigburth Arms?

Answer: 26th November 2155

As the episode 'Ouroboros' progresses, we learn that Lister is the baby in the box, and by a strange twist of fate, he is his own father, and Kochanski is his mother.
7. We see Kristine Kochanski in 'Oroboros', but do any other 'girlfriends' of Lister's show up in this episode (seen or unseen)?

Answer: Yes

We don't actually see her, but Hackhackhack Ach Hachhachach, Lister's gelf bride from 'Emohawk - Polymorph II' (Series 6), is looking for her errant husband. It is the appearance of the gelf ship which destroys the link and leaves Kochanski stranded in a different dimension.
8. A relative of one of the regular cast members played Baby Lister - who was that child?

Answer: Alexander John-Jules

Alexander is Danny John-Jules' nephew. I made up the other names.
9. What was the 'proper' order of the noises from the pipes in Kochanski's sleeping quarters?

Answer: 'nurieek', 'rotut', 'hernunger'

'No, that's wrong!' Kochanski screamed at the pipes, 'You've gone out of sequence! 'Nurieek', 'rotut', 'hernunger' - what's wrong with you? If you're gonna keep me up all night just do it right, okay?!' She was really confused (and annoyed) when 'sqweloookle' came along as it did not belong to the sequence at all.
10. What had Kryten excluded from the shutdown override in 'Duct Soup'?

Answer: the door locks

He did not tell the rest of the crew about this as he had activated the shutdown in order to separate Lister and Kochanski after a nightmarish daydream; he wanted them to take the journey through the ducts rather than allow Kochanski to have a bath.
11. What did the Cat and Lister do in order to improve Starbug's performance?

Answer: they cleared out excess cargo

By removing the excess baggage Starbug was lighter and able to perform more effectively. While they were sorting through the stuff Lister got a bad case of the blues regarding Rimmer and the fact that he missed his presence on board. Strange but true!
12. On what subject did Rimmer give the Cat advice in 'The Rimmer Experience'?

Answer: fashion

Ironic, for Rimmer knew absolutely nothing about any of the options; the Cat was the ultimate authority on fashion and the idea that Rimmer could advise him on this subject was ludicrous.
13. What was written on the exit door of 'The Rimmer Experience'?

Answer: 'Toodle Pipski'

Kyten created 'The Rimmer Experience' from reading Rimmer's diaries; these showed Rimmer as the brave hero who held the entire Red Dwarf crew together with his wit, charm and intellience. As if.
14. Kochanski introduced Lister and the Cat to a totally new kind of AR game. What was it called?

Answer: Jane Austen World

Kryten, having prepared a special meal, was annoyed when they left for this Game. After many attempts to get their attention (such as swinging logs at their heads), he borrowed a tank from a WWII game, fires on the crew as they are taking tea with Mrs Bennett and her daughters, blowing up the gazebo in fine style, and announces to the stunned Lister, Kochanski and the Cat that 'Supper is served'.
15. Kryten has prepared a special meal to celebrate an occasion. What is the occasion?

Answer: the anniversary of his rescue from the Nova 5

Kryten had spent two days preparing this meal (lobster) and after dragging the crew from the AR game in the previous question, he lost his head (literally) when Lister asked for brown ketchup.
16. How did Lister get the Epideme virus?

Answer: he was kissed by Caroline Carmen

The crew found a deeply frozen Caroline Carmen on a derelect ship; when she defrosted she infected Lister with the Epideme virus before she died. There is no cure for this virus and his number was up.
17. What does the Cat suggest Lister does with his final 58 minutes of life? (This was after his right arm was amputated in an attempt to remove the virus.)

Answer: have half a juggling lesson

Of course, Lister was not amused. In fact, he was still upset at having lost his right arm: 'What kind of navigation officer can't tell right from left?' he throws at Kochanski in his distress. To then hear that the virus is still in his bloodstream was the last straw - Cat's lack of tact was just too much to be borne.
18. Kochanski killed Lister, offered an arm to the Epideme virus, then chopped that arm off, throwing it into deep space, effectively killing the virus for good.

Answer: True

Kochanski had taken Caroline Carmen's arm, injected it with blood and adrenaline, and used it to trick the virus into thinking it was entering her blood stream. She then threw away the arm, and revived Lister.
19. In 'Nanarchy' there is a planetoid immediately in front of Starbug. What do the scanners say this planetoid is?

Answer: Red Dwarf

It seemed that the search for Red Dwarf had finally come to an end - but how were the crew going to sort this mess out, recover Holly and get back on board a ship which was seemingly in a million pieces out in deep space?
20. Who had the last word of Series 7?

Answer: Cat

Red Dwarf was found in Lister's washing basket (never be disturbed there); Kryten's nanobots had taken it and shrunk it! Under dire threat, they restored the ship and created a new arm for Lister. The series ended as Starbug flew towards 'the small rouge one', and the Cat, seeing a problem with the dimensions of the ship, said, 'Er, guys! We've got a problem!'
