Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. As a class project, who was Blair married to?

Answer: Wilbur Waldo

"Sweet Sorrow" in season 3, Blair was not thrilled with her husband, for a school project. She said she was 'looking for twin beds'. In the meantime Jo's ex-boyfriend shows up, but she has eyes for another guy that is her class project 'husband'. Like every episode, everything worked out with a hug as Jo hugs Mrs. Garrett.
2. What is Natalie's grandmother's name?

Answer: Grandma Mona

The episode, "From Russia With Love" brought changed plans for Natalie. Natalie was hoping for a little romantic weekend and ended up with her Jewish grandmother coming for a visit, spoiling any hopes of romance for Natalie. The two agree at the end of the episode to treat each other with a little respect, of course, the two hug with Grandma agreeing to treat Natalie as an adult and Natalie agreeing to not think that Grandma is too old!
3. Not only was Mrs. Garrett a supervisor for the girls, but she also had a job with the school. What was her profession?

Answer: In house dietician managing the school cafeteria

Mrs. Garrett or as some call her, Mrs. G, started off as a housekeeper for Mr. Drummond and his family in "Diff'rent Strokes" and then took a job as a live in supervisor for the girls at Eastland Academy. Every week she gives the girls a bit of advice and helps them mature into young ladies over the years and of course, the hugs are every week, along with the advice.
4. Which character received their driver's license during the series?

Answer: Tootie

In season 7, "Tootie Drives" she received her learner's permit and was ready to venture out to the driving world. She needs a car to practice in and asks Blair for her car. Blair quite frankly suggests, "Not on your life". Unfortunately, none of the girls want to help teach Tootie and have a losing coin toss. Tootie didn't pass the first time and the second test is a lot more fun watching her driving around in a hearse.

She did pass with flying colors, but the episode was quite fun to watch.
5. What character played the role of Beverly Ann Stickle?

Answer: Cloris Leachman

When Mrs. Garrett decided to move away from the girls, Mrs. Garrett's sister, Beverly Ann, took over the house and store. Charlotte Rae left the series after a long time with both "Diff'rent Strokes" and then "Facts of Life". Cloris was in the series until the end, two years later in 1988.
6. What was the name of the boy who Beverly Ann adopted?

Answer: Andy

Andy Moffett was a young man who visited with the girls from 1985 to 1989. He had been going from foster home to foster home for years until Beverly Ann decided to legally adopt him. Before the adoption went through she was nervous about being a full-time mother. Just as the final inspection was performed, Andy, who wasn't being very good, acted up and Beverly Ann put an end to his antics.

The final inspector saw that she could very well handle the situation and the adoption proceedings were completed.
7. Who went to New York City to become a model?

Answer: Tootie

In season 2, Jonathan Dutton was coming to their school looking for 'the face of the 80s'. He selected Tootie as the 'face' and she heads to New York City with Mrs. Garrett and the gang. Her photo shoot was coming along nicely until the photographer mentioned that she would be wearing a wig and ONLY a wig. Tootie decided to give up her life as a model and headed back to school.
8. What is the name of the episode where all four cast members of the Drummond family of "Diff'ent Strokes" made a guest appearance on "Facts of Life"?

Answer: Rough Housing

The series started off in 1979 with the very first episode with the entire Drummond family, including Mr. Drummond, Kimberly, Arnold, and Willis. Some of them had some guest appearances during the show, but this was the one episode where all of them were on.

They had come to visit to try to get Mrs. Garrett to come back home with them. Mrs. Garrett was happy with her new job and the girls and had no intention of moving back.
9. Who is Jo's maid of honor when she gets married?

Answer: Blair

In the final season, Jo married Rick Bonner, who was played by Carl Marotte. He was a musician and Jo had asked Blair to stand up with her in the wedding. It's sort of comical because Blair and Jo never really got along and then became best friends at the end of the series. We find out in the "Facts of Life" reunion that Jo has a daughter, Jamie, with her husband.
10. What was the name of the handyman played by George Clooney?

Answer: George Burnett

George Clooney had a small role on the show for two seasons starting in 1985. Mrs. Garrett's place, Edna's Edibles, burned down and she hired George to help rebuild a new shop. He stayed with the show for 17 episodes but moved away with a pop singer.
