In the episode "From Fear To Eternity," Barbas made his first appearance when he was unleashed from the Underworld. After he was unleashed, he started roaming around and he was killing unmarried witches.

2. What type of demon was Barbas?

Answer: Fear

Barbas was a demon who fed on the fear of other beings and he was also known as the Demon of Fear. His power was to see the greatest fear of another being and then he would make that fear come to life, literally.

3. In the episode "From Fear To Eternity" and "Ms. Hellfire," what type of witches was Barbas tracking down and killing?

Answer: Unmarried

In order for Barbas to be completely released from his imprisonment, he had to kill thirteen unmarried witches before midnight on Friday the Thirteenth. If he didn't kill thirteen unmarried witches when the clock struck twelve, he would be sent back to his imprisonment so he could once again enjoy purgatory.
