Kathy Bates played Jo Bennett as a recurring guest star in seasons six and seven. She was the CEO of Sabre, which bought Dunder Mifflin. She was no-nonsense, owned Great Danes, and flew in a private jet.

Will Ferrell was featured in four episodes in season seven as Deangelo Vickers who took over as Regional Manager after Michael Scott left. Deangelo was interested in the American Southwest and had a minor peanut allergy.

Idris Elba portrayed Charles Miner in season five. Charles was introduced in "New Boss" as the new Vice President of the Northeast Region. He clashed with Michael and took over the Scranton branch when Michael quit and formed the Michael Scott Paper Company.

Amy Adams played "Hot Girl" Katy Moore in three episodes in seasons one and two. Katy briefly dated Jim.

Ken Jeong made a cameo in the season two episode "Email Surveillance." He played Bill, a member of Michael's improv class.

Ricky Gervais reprised his role of David Brent from the UK version of "The Office" in two episodes in season seven. David met Michael in the cold open of "The Seminar" and later appeared in "Search Committee" as one of the job applicants for the regional manager position.

Also in "Search Committee," Ray Romano made an appearance as Merv Bronte, another manager hopeful. However, he botched the interview after being psyched out by Robert California.

Singer Josh Groban played Walter Bernard, Jr., Andy's younger brother. While mentioned by Andy multiple times throughout the show, he was only seen in person twice, once in season eight's "Garden Party" and once in season nine's "The Boat."

Stephen Colbert played Broccoli Rob who went to Cornell with Andy and was a member of the a cappella group Here Comes Treble. He was mentioned many times by Andy, but only appeared once via a video call in "Here Comes Treble" in season nine.

Joan Cusack played Erin Hannon's mother who revealed herself during the Q&A in "Finale" in season nine. Erin's father was played by Ed Begley Jr.

A few other celebrity guest stars who appeared in "The Office" include Rob Riggle, Tim Meadows, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Jack Black, Jessica Alba, Christian Slater, Will Arnett, and Jim Carrey.
