The wrong answers are Joseph B. Brown, best known as TV's Judge Joe Brown. William Pogue was an astronaut in the 1970s. Edward Kennedy wasn't on the Supreme Court but Anthony Kennedy (no relation) was on the Court. Harry Stonecipher was the former CEO of the Boeing Corporation. William Seward was Secretary of State in 1861.
Samuel Alito joined the Supreme Court in 2006, and Sonia Sotomayor became a justice during Obama's first term. Antonin Scalia served thirty years on the Court after being selected during Ronald Reagan's presidency.
Harry Blackmun from Minnesota was on the Supreme Court from 1970 to 1994. Harlan Fiske Stone from New York became a justice in 1925 and served for sixteen years. Thurgood Marshall might be the most famous name on the list. He became a justice during Lyndon Johnson's presidency and served for 24 years.
Two of the most unique names to serve on the Supreme Court include Felix Frankfurter and Bushrod Washington. Frankfurter was on the Court from 1939 to 1962. Bushrod Washington was from Virginia and served 31 years starting during the presidency of the U.S.'s second president, John Adams.
Warren Earl Burger joined the Supreme Court in 1969 and was a chief justice during his close to three decades on the Court. Salmon Portland Chase was also a chief justice and began his tenure during Abraham Lincoln's term starting in 1864.
