He was filming "Good Neighbor Sam" (1964) which came right after "Under The Yum Yum Tree" (1963) both films which turned out to be bombs. The producers sent everyone home since nobody could connect and they were all in a daze over the tragedy. Jack stated that he knew JFK from when they attended Harvard at the same time so knowing Kennedy made the tragedy even more difficult to deal with.
