Whenever Howard's radio show was picked up in a new market, Stern quickly gained notoreity. One reason was, of course, the show; another, his raucous trips to "destroy" the other deejays. Stern would take a bunch of supporters on a bus down to someplace such as Philadelphia, where they would gather outside the rival's offices to wave signs, catcall and drive everybody nuts.
