Juggling Trivia Questions

1. Jess Stir: "O Malabarista, my life has been devoid of meaning since the tragic day when near all memory was lost. O Malabarista, remind me what I used to juggle when all I can recall is the word, annuli". What was Jess Stir's juggling speciality?

From Quiz
O Malabarista!

Answer: Rings

Annuli is a term most often seen in mathematics and is the plural of the Latin word, annulus (little ring). Mathematically, an annulus is a flat ring but there is of course no law restricting your juggling endeavours to two-dimensional rings! Most sane juggling involves safe objects such as balls, rings and fruit; for some however, there is no thrill in juggling tangerines.

2. What juggling item is it easiest to do in large numbers?

From Quiz Juggling and Jugglers

Answer: Rings

They are lighter, and you can hold more of them.

3. Rings are considered to be the easiest prop to use while juggling more than 3. In 2002, a world record was set when a juggler flashed 13 rings. What is the man's name?

Answer: Albert Lucas

In 2002 Albert Lucas successfully completed a stunning 13 catches with 13 rings.

5. Jess Stir: "O Malabarista, prevent the hordes from mocking me, as cheap, vulgar and third class; O Malabarista, guide me to success with the tossing of hats and canes". What type of juggler does Jess Stir aspire to be?

From Quiz O Malabarista!

Answer: Gentleman Juggler

In order to keep people interested in the art of juggling, which is not an easy task in an era of so many competing forms of entertainment, themed performances are often put on for circus and variety show audiences. One such theme is that of the gentleman juggler, where aristocratic items, such as the elegant top hat and bottles of champagne, are repeatedly thrown into the air with sophistication. Videos of Gaston Palmer, gentleman juggler extraordinaire, are available on online streaming websites where he proudly shares with us his art form.

From Quiz Juggling and Jugglers

12. Jess Stir: "O Malabarista, my waist ceases not in its expansion, the buttons of my harlequin suit threaten their escape. O Malabarista, compel me to exercise". What combination of juggling and brisk forward movement could Malabarista recommend?

From Quiz O Malabarista!

Answer: Joggling

If chessboxing is legitimate then why not joggling? Despite autocorrect trying to deny the existence of this hybrid activity, joggling does indeed exist and is the combination of juggling and jogging. For somebody like me who cannot even nail the basics, I cannot begin to imagine how you keep objects aloft whilst on the move. Owen Morse, who has appeared on 'America's Got Talent', broke one of the many joggling world records back in 1989 and it demonstrates the level of athleticism required to be the best. Far from jogging, Morse sprinted 100m, whilst juggling three props, in just 11.68 seconds!

13. What is a gentleman juggler?

From Quiz Juggling and Jugglers

They were popular in the twenties

14. What is a variation of juggling clubs that is also a good way of stretching out?

From Quiz Juggling and Jugglers

Answer: club swinging & swinging clubs & swinging

This is probably how juggling clubs first started. In the 1800's gymnists would stretch out by swinging around 6 pound wooden clubs. During their breaks, someone probably started flipping them from one hand to the other, and eventually juggling clubs came out of it. (juggling 8 pound clubs!)

Answer: Presenting pure skill with precision, skill and panache.

17. When 'juggling a violin', what are you supposed to juggle?

From Quiz Juggling and Jugglers

Answer: violin, bow, and hat

An interesting thing to do is come out in a suit (with a hat of course) and start playing a song on the violin. Halfway into the song,(don't try this at home) throw the violin in the air, take your hat off, and start juggling the three. When done with that, put your hat back on and finish playing the song.

18. Is it possible to do some form of 'juggling' with only one ball?

From Quiz Juggling and Jugglers

Answer: yes & Y & &

You wouldn't belive how many body rolls and other tricks there are with one ball. In fact, one professional juggler who had mastered ten balls stopped doing it, going down in the number of balls, eventually getting to one, because he was tired that there wasn't anything more to do with so many balls. The less balls, the more possibilities.
