Aldous Huxley is perhaps most popularly associated with his dystopian novel "Brave New World", but his prolific output led to his nomination seven times for a Nobel Prize in Literature. His essay about the experience of taking mescaline, "The Doors of Perception", took its title from the a phrase in William Blake's 1793 poem "The Marriage of Heaven and Hell", and is said to be the inspiration for Jim Morrison naming his band The Doors.
