1. Who was the ruler of the Sith?

Lord Kaan was the last Sith Lord to rule the Sith while they were still numerous in the galaxy. He fought against the Jedi Order on the world of Ruusan during the New Sith Wars. Kaan's opposite number in the Jedi was Lord Hoth.

When Bane was on leave from work, he joined a sabaac game with some Republic soldiers. Bane played so well that he managed to win the sabaac pot. The ensign who had been drinking quite a bit was furious. Later the ensign and two other Republic soldiers attacked Bane, while he was walking home. The ensign drew a vibroblade, but thanks to Bane's force sensitivity, Bane was able to sense the vibroblade and kill the ensign. Bane was forced to flee the planet and join the Brotherhood of Darkness.

On a backwater world where Dessel was penalized for disobeying orders, even though he saved his fellow soldiers, the Sith Lord Kopecz found him and sensed that the dark side of the Force was strong in Des. Bane was selected to battle another fellow Sith student named Fohargh as part of the apprentices' training. During the fight, Fohargh was managing to battle back Bane until the latter unleashed a torrent of Force energy that ended Fohargh's life. Kopecz recommended Bane be trained on Korriban, the Sith World. Korriban was where only the strongest apprentices went.

Yevra and Llokay were twin Zabraks and were fiercely loyal to Sirak.

Kas'im explained that they dropped the title of Darth because it was apparently easier for Jedi to identify Sith.
