1. What killed all but one Iguanodon egg at the beginning of "Dinosaur"?

Answer: A Carnotaurus trampled the nest.

At the beginning of the movie, a female Iguanodon was pampering her eggs when a Carnotaurus caused a stampede. The Carnataurus smashed the eggs when he was charging after the other dinosaurs.

Aladar's mother (along with all the other Dinosaurs in the area) is chased away by the Carnotaur, who tramples all the eggs in the nest apart from Aladar's. Then an egg-eating Dinosaur finds the egg, and carries it away into the forest. Whilst trying to crack the egg open on the rock, it is taken by another egg-eater. The two egg-eaters fight for a moment, and the egg falls into the river. After passing numerous dinosaurs (and being nearly eaten but spat out by a Koolasuchus), it's caught by a Pterodactyl, who flies off to an island to feed the egg to the hatchlings in the nest, but is intercepted on the way by other Pterodactyls, and the egg is dropped (again), this time landing amongst the Lemurs.

The egg was picked up by an Oviraptor and dropped into the ocean. It survived the ocean and travelled with a Pteranodon before being dropped onto an island of lemurs. While in the hands of the lemurs, the Iguanadon hatched. They named him Aladar.

Plio was the name of the lemur who raised Aladar after he was dropped onto their island. Plio's father was the patriarch of the group named Yar. Plio also had a daughter named Suri and a brother named Zini. Aladar considered Yar to be his grandfather.

Aladar was shown briefly as a baby and then went right into adulthood. When the adult Aladar was shown, he was escorting several lemurs to the mating ritual. While on their way, Aladar told Zini that Yar put the 'prime in primate'. Zini, Aladar's adoptive uncle, was the only lemur that wasn't chosen by a female.

Kron was an Iguadon who was leading a herd of dinosaurs to the nesting grounds. Aladar and the others were mixed in with the group and Kron allowed Aladar and the others to join the herd. Aladar took a liking to a female Iguanadon named Neera who was Kron's sister.

When Aladar and the Lemurs realise that the Raptors aren't chasing them any more, Aladar stops running. There is a dust cloud in front of him, and when it clears, he is immediately face-to-face with Kron, who slams into him, says the line, and carries on. Aladar then has to negotiate his way through the rest of the herd, getting a few bumps along the way.

Aladar's adoptive uncle, Zini, realized that Aladar liked Neera and started making catcalls at her from the back of the herd. Neera heard the catcalls, but thought it was Aladar making the noises. She referred to Aladar as Jerkasaurus and continued walking.

When Zini sees that Aladar seems to like Neera, he starts making suggestions about her. Then he does a sort of Dog impression, barking and howling, and Neera turns to the two baby Iguanadons and says 'And that, childrennm is what we call a 'Jerkasaurus'.'.

When Kron and the caravan found no water where Kron thought there would be water he made the caravan keep walking. Neera reminded him that with no water most of the herd would die. Aladar found water underneath the dirt and dug for it. When he pushed down on the spot he dug, water came to the surface. Everyone was allowed to drink and rest before they had to start out again.

Shortly after meeting Baylene, Eema, and Url, and discovering that they're having a hard time keeping up with the rest of the herd, Aladar calls Kron over to ask him to slow it down a bit. After Kron refuses and walks off, Neera says 'That's how my brother always treats strangers...no matter how charming they are.'

While Kron moved the herd forward, Aladar stayed back with the elderly dinosaurs to keep them moving. During a storm, they had to take shelter in a cave. Bruton, Kron's second in command, was killed protecting Aladar and the others from a group of Carnotaurus. Aladar and the other came to the back of the cave and knocked their way through it. They found the nesting ground, but realized due to a rock slide the caravan wouldn't be able to make it through the original entrance.

The rest of the herd continue on at Kron's command (Neera included), and Eema collapses on discovering that for the first time, there is no water there but there always was before. Baylene approaches, trying to comfort her, and Aladar and Zini notice the strange noises as she walks. They tell her to raise her foot, then dig a little way down, then Aladar tells her to put her foot down again. She does, the ground gives way, and the water flows into the hole.

Aladar told Kron that he wouldn't be able to get to the nesting ground by the rocks. Kron didn't believe Aladar and tried to get up the slope. A Carnotaurus that survived the cave avalanche singled Kron out and went after him. Kron died of massive injuries caused by the Carnotaurus. Aladar led the rest of the caravan through the cave to the nesting ground.

Bruton, losing the battle with the Carnotaurs, sees his chance to stop them, and charges right into the wall, which causes the cave-in.

At the beginning of the movie when Yar held Aladar for the first time, Aladar peed on him. At the end of the movie when Yar picked up Aladar's son, the baby peed on Yar. Aladar's adoptive grandfather told everyone it was how he knew that Aladar was the father of the baby.

Everyone except Bruton, Aladar, and the Carnotaurs are in the cave when Bruton causes the cave-in (the others having already escaped down the tunnel). Obviously the cave-in lands right on top of the Carnotaurs (if you put that as your answer, they're not CHARACTERS just meat-eating creatures which chase the characters!). Aladar gets to the tunnel-opening, and turns back for Bruton, but he doesn't get out in time, and Aladar returns after the cave-in and discovers him dead under the rocks.

The landslide, probably caused by the shockwaves of the meteor impact, entirely blocks the way to the Nesting Grounds. The only sign that it's even there (from the PoV of the herd), is the Pterodactyls flying round the top and (I think) a couple of trees growing on the top of the rock pile.

He pushes them hard to climb the rock pile, saying 'Go on, you can do it boys', and other such encouraging words, because he doesn't want to admit that they'll have to go back and find another way.

Just as Kron is rearing up to strike the killing blow, Neera leaps forward and knocks him to the side. She then helps Aladar to his feet and starts to walks away, and ignores Kron as he tries to call her back.

He's trying to convince the herd to follow his lead, not Kron's. Kron wants them to run and try to climb the rocks to the Nesting Grounds, but Aladar says that if they do that, the Carnotaur will pick them off separately.

On being driven back by Aladar and the herd, the Carnotaur then spots Kron trying to climb the rocks alone. It heads for him, and Neera follows to try and save her brother. Aladar follows Neera, but bother arrive too late, as the Carnotaur bites Kron and throws him against a rock. It does the same to Neera but not as hard, and Aladar, of course manages to kill the Carnotaur. When it's dead, Kron already is as well.
