Answer: Francis

His real name is Francis but he is usually called Begbie or Franco. He is played by Robert Carlyle who has also starred in films such as 'The Full Monty'.

2. What is the name of the bar where Renton meets Diane?

You can see the name Volcano when Renton is first talking to Diane, just before they get in the taxi together. Although the film is supposed to be set in Edinburgh the Volcano bar is actually in Glasgow.

Why the film is called 'Trainspotting' is never explained but if you read the book by Irvine Welsh, there is a chapter called 'Trainspotting at Leith Central Station' which is presumed to be the reason for the title 'Trainspotting'.
