"The Ipcress File" was directed by Sidney J. Furie. Co-starring with Michael Caine were Guy Dolman, Nigel Green, Sue Lloyd and Gordon Jackson. Harry Palmer (Caine) is recruited to investigate a traitor in the government department he works for, and in the process his life is put in danger. The film won the BAFTA Award for Best British Film of 1965, and was a considerable success at the box office. Michael Caine went on to play Harry Palmer again in adaptations of "Funeral In Berlin" and "Billion Dollar Brain", and the character was revived in the 1990s in "Bullet To Beijing" and "Midnight In Saint Petersburg", neither of which were successful.

"Alfie" was adapted for the screen by Bill Naughton from his novel and play of the same name, and was directed by Lewis Gilbert. As well as Michael Caine, it starred Shelley Winters, Millicent Martin, Vivien Merchant and Julia Foster. It won the Special Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. An inferior remake, starring Jude Law in the title role, was released in 2004.

"Little Voice" was written and directed by Mark Herman, and was based on the play "The Rise And Fall Of Little Voice" by Jim Cartwright. It starred Jane Horrocks, Michael Caine, Ewen McGregor, Jim Broadbent and Brenda Blethyn. Although nominated for a number of awards, it was only Michael Caine who was a winner, receiving the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a musical or comedy. The film was a moderate success.
