From Quiz
Bay City Rollers (1975-78) - My R&R Love Letter

Answer: Les, Alan, Derek, Stuart, Eric

The group's lineup at the time of their initial appearance on the American pop charts was Leslie McKeown (Les), (my favorite Roller), Alan Longmuir, Derek Longmuir (Alan's brother), Stuart Wood ("Woody"), and Eric Faulkner. Alan left the band, and he was replaced by Ian Mitchell. Ian left the band, and he was replaced by Patrick McGlynn. Nobby Clark was an original member when the band formed in 1970.

2. Where were the Bay City Rollers from?

From Quiz Bay City Rollers

Answer: Scotland

3. Where were the Rollers from?

Answer: Scotland

The Rollers hailed from Scotland--Edinburgh, to be exact, except for short-time member, Ian Mitchell, who was from Ireland.

4. What was the band's manager's name?

From Quiz Bay City Rollers

Answer: Tam Paton

5. It's well known how the Rollers got their name. They stuck a pin in a map of America and named themselves after the city in which the pin stuck. Where is the 'Bay City' they chose located?

From Quiz Bay City Rollers (1975-78) - My R&R Love Letter

Answer: Michigan

Being a native Texan, I'd like to say they stuck the pin in Bay City, Texas. But, alas, it was Bay City, Michigan that they named themselves after.

6. The Rollers had a very distinctive look, a sort of 'fashion statement'. What did they wear that set them apart?

From Quiz Bay City Rollers (1975-78) - My R&R Love Letter

Answer: clothing trimmed with tartan

Any true Roller fan knows that proper Roller attire was clothing trimmed with tartan--never plaid! They favored jackets, shirts and knicker-type pants trimmed with tartan, scarves and athletic shoes.

Answer: Tartan Trousers

I made myself a pair of these when I was 13!

8. Who was Tam Paton?
