"Start!" was a track from the 1980 album "Sound Affects", and was released as a single, going all the way to number one on the UK chart in the late summer of that year. The Jam were formed in Woking, Surrey, in 1972, with the original line-up of Paul Weller, Steve Brookes and Dave Waller.

The permanent line-up of the band during their recording history (1977-82) comprised Weller (vocals/guitar), Foxton (bass) and Buckler.
