From Quiz Pro Bowlers Tour

Answer: Bowl two perfect games back-to-back

This amazing feat was done on CBS-TV in 1959. Unfortunately, the American Bowling Congress (ABC) could not sanction these games. Reason being is that this was a 'scotch doubles' tournament where the first of a four-man team would throw the first ball and continue as long as he made strikes. Once he missed a strike, the second member of the team throws the second ball to try and convert the spare, then continue until he missed a strike. The third member would take over from there, and so forth.

Answer: Threw 5 on his first ball, then intentionally missed them all and lost.

The announcers were proclaiming his championship win and the screen was disolving to the next commercial, just as Don was intentionally firing his second shot in the ditch.
