Fry was a pizza delivery man for Panucci's Pizza who was tricked into going to the business where they froze him. He was woken up in 2999. He was pushed into the freezing chamber just as the clock struck midnight signaling the year 2000.

This has been revealed in a few episodes. In "How Hermes Requisitioned His Groove Back" Hermes and LaBarbara go to Spa 5 for what they believe is a vacation. The sign outside when they arrive shows "Recommended by Dr. John Zoidberg." Also, in "30% Iron Chef," Zoidberg frames Fry for wrecking the Professor's ship in a bottle. The "confession note" that Professor Farnsworth finds has "From the Desk of Dr. John Zoidberg" written at the bottom of it. Who knew?

Fry's full name has been given in many episodes, although his middle name was never revealed. I wonder if it is anything like Homer Simpson, who found that his middle name was Jay all along.

Leela is a mutant, although for most of the series she thought she was an alien. Lee Lemon was the name that she gave Zapp Brannigan when she enlisted in the Earth Army to keep Fry and Bender from dying when they went to war on Spheron 1.

He had a crush on Leela, a one-eyed mutant, from the first episode of the series onward. They dated periodically, often with bad results during the main run of the series. After being cancelled and brought back the two paired off on a more permanent basis and eventually fell in love.

Fender appeared in "Hell is Other Robots" and introduced Bender to "jacking on", eventually leading him to abandon his reckless behavior and turn to Robotology. Bender's new found good nature is so irritating that the Planet Express crew tries to get him to go back to his old ways.

Zoidberg's cousin sent him a card shaped like a lobster, then drew a picture of a lobster in a santa hat inside and a note that says "Santa "Claws" Cousin Zoidfarb."

This was from the episode "Luck of the Fryish" where Fry, Bender, and Leela return to the ruins of old New York and find the house that Fry grew up in. Fry discovers a statue of a man who looks like his brother, but the name shows Philip J. Fry. To Fry's dismay his lucky seven leaf clover was missing, presumably stolen by his brother. As it turns out, Fry's brother Yancy had a son and named him Philip J. after Fry, who was the one in the statue. Fry's seven leaf clover brought a lifetime of luck to Yancy's son, and he ended up accomplishing the things that Fry wanted to accomplish before he was frozen.

This was from "The Cyber House Rules" when Leela was reunited with a boy from her old orphanarium. She finds out that he is now a plastic surgeon, and he gives her an operation to let her have two eyes.

Fry finds out that Michelle was cryogenically frozen sometime after Fry was, and he thaws her out in the future when he goes to work for Applied Cryogenics after being fired from Planet Express.

Answer: A man Leela almost married because she thought he was the last of her race.

Leela met Alkazar (Al) online, and thought that he was the last of her species. After putting up with a lot of crap from him, she agreed to marry him, only to find out on their wedding day that he was not who she thought he was. This was one of my favorite episodes, as it was a spoof on "Married with Children" which starred Katey Segal long before she came to "Futurama".
