Of these choices, only the correct answer was a real character from this episode. Bradley Stryker played Uncle Ted, who was killed by the "ghost" woman. Bradley played the first Trey Atwood on the series "The OC". Trey was Brian's criminally minded older brother. Sam and Dean tried to trick the family into leaving the house while they investigated, but it did not work. They pretended to be agents Babar and Stanwyk, and homage to actress Barbara Stanwyk. She starred in such classic TV series as "Wagon Train" and "The Big Valley", but was a prolific film actress as well.

Alistair devastated Dean by telling him that when Dean broke in the pit after thirty years and started torturing souls, that was the first seal. He also told Dean that the plan was for Dean's father John to break the seal, but John lasted nearly 100 years and Alistair could not break him.

Each victim was instructed to go to room 1444 and report to human resources. Dean told Sam that HR was on the seventh floor, and the pair agreed to go check out out. The found the ghost in the room, killing another man! Afterward Sam gave Dean his destiny speech. Dean found the "Ghostfacers" website, which led them to PT Sandover. He founded the company and died in 1916. Room 1444 was the old man's office, back in the time that the building was only fourteen stories high.

Sam and Dean found the unusual coin fixed to the bottom of the well. In order to prove to Sam it was a real wishing well, Dean made a wish of his own. He wished for a big Italian sandwich. It came in the door the instant he made the silent wish, but later gave him intestinal problems. That confirmed that the wishes were going badly after being granted. And, a town where every wish was coming true lent itself toward chaos. The coin had caused entire towns to self destruct in the past.

The burned hand print was on Dean's left upper arm. After trying to communicate with Dean twice on his own (in the store and in the motel), Castiel realized his voice was too powerful for Dean to hear. The men tried to do a seance to discover the identity of the demon who brought Dean out of Hell, but the poor psychic had her eyes burned out when she saw Castiel in his true form. So, Dean took advantage of Sam's late night disappearance to invoke the being who'd saved him. It turned out that Castiel was not a demon at all, but an angel of God sent to retrieve Dean from his demonic prison. At least, that is what Castiel (now in a borrowed human visage) reported to Dean. Misha Collins played the angel Castiel.

The episode allowed viewers to see Sam and Dean as teenagers. Dean was the swaggering, cool customer even back then, but at the end of the episode his insecurities were displayed. Sam was fighting to be "normal" but it was clear that his path was not going to be so simple. It was also ironic to see that the kid that bullied Sam saw himself as the victim, and Sam as the bully.

Castiel sent Dean back to 1973. In addition to dealing with the Yellow-Eyed Demon and meeting his parents and grandparents, Dean also took time to talk his father into buying the Impala rather than a van.

He revealed his name was Zachariah and that he was Castiel's superior. He told Dean that he would do all he was destined to do, despite his resentment and daddy issues. Kurt Fuller played the angel Zachariah.

The Winchesters arrived in Souix City, Iowa in time to witness a gathering of magicians, including a Criss Angelesque tool named Jeb Dexter. Jay had once been quite famous in his own right, but now felt like a washed up old man. He and his two friends, all magicians, watched the newest crop of youngsters wowing audiences and felt the enormity of their "has been" statuses. So, Jay decided to perform one last dangerous illusion for the crowd. He told his friends if he died doing it, that at least he'd have a big headline. Barry played Mayor Winston for several seasons of the series "Spin City". I believe I first spotted him on a TV movie back in the wee hours of the 1980s.

Answer: shapeshifter

Dean figured out what the culprit was after it attacked the barmaid Jamie. She and Dean were supposed to hook up, when "Dracula" attacked her. Dean saved her life, and ripped the faux vamp's ear off his head. He then explained to Sam and Jamie that it was the skin of a shapeshifter he was holding on to. It had pretended to be all the other monsters, as well as Jamie's co-worker Lucy. Melinda Sward played Jamie, Holly Dignard played Lucy, and Todd Stashwick played the Dracula version of the shifter.

He played Richard on the series "Felicity". Chuck lived in a town called Kripke's Hollow, named after series creator Eric Kripke.

Charlie was played by John Rubenstein, who can always play a great villain. Younger Charlie was played by Michael Weston, who can always play a selfish person with raging immorality. Charlie had performed a spell, found in "The Grimoire" that he claimed was passed down to him from another famous magician. It gave Charlie immortality, which he in turn offered to both Jay and Vernon. Sam and Dean came to stop it, so Charlie threatened their lives. This caused Jay to make a hard choice and he killed Charlie. Jay was unsure of his choice afterward, and left Sam and Dean in despair.

Anna had been perfectly normal before that started, but the Winchesters found her in a mental ward. She couldn't see the angels, nor communicate with them, but she had heard of the Winchester men. Actress Julie McNiven played Anna.

It was Castiel (actor Misha Collins) that revealed the truth about poor Chuck Shurley. Dean was shocked and not at all impressed, stating that Chuck was "practically a 'Penthouse Forum' writer". He asked Chuck if Chuck had seen this coming, which he had. He told Dean he didn't want to mention it because writing himself into the story as a prophet was "M. Night level douchiness". That comment was laugh out loud level funny. Castiel explained that Chuck's books would someday be known as "The Winchester Gospel". Zachariah visited Chuck at the end of the episode and asked him if he "saw it". Chuck wanted to warn Sam and Dean, but he was instructed not to do it. Chuck stated that he was going to kill himself, but Zachariah told him they'd just bring him back to life and instructed him to write.

The brothers were dropped off in the Impala, presumably by their father John. Dean mentioned a couple of times that they wouldn't be in the school long, and John would be back soon. John was most likely off on a supernatural mission of some sort, but apparently trying to maintain the boys some sort of education. This was Dean and Sam's third school that year, but this one left an impression on young Sam.

Sam and Dean were able to figure out where she'd gone based on a photo she'd been in, of her standing in front of the same church. It was unusual that Anna's doctor so freely dispensed her medical condition, even if she believed the Winchesters to be law enforcement. Medical professionals to do not generally reveal much about a patient's condition without a court order.

Answer: Frank thought that Luther had killed his wife Jessie

Frank O'Brian's wife Jessie had worked at the mill with Luther. Luther was a gentle giant, but in times of prejudice was also misunderstood. Luther and Jessie had been friends, but when she disappeared Frank thought Luther was behind it. After he killed Luther, Jessie was discovered as a suicide victim. Frank never forgave himself, and the sheriff Al also knew the truth. Sam and Bobby had to scare Luther's ghost in order to end the infection. The episode ended with a hilarious lip sync of "Eye of the Tiger" by Jensen Ackles. You could hear the cast and crew laughing in the background and then they all cheered him when he was finished.

I was three months old at that date! Dean didn't realize right away he was in the past. He tried to use his cellphone, but had no signal. He went into the diner and asked where he was of young John Winchester, who told him he was in Lawrence. He tried to use his phone again, and asked John where he may get reception and John jokingly stated "the USS Enterprise". Dean began to look around the diner when no one knew Sonny and Cher had split up, a clue he may not be in the same time he came from. He saw the style of dress, maybe noted the classic rock playing on the jukebox, and then read the date on "The Lawrence Herald". Someone walked into the diner as it all dawned on Dean, and called out "Hey Winchester". Then the man told John it was good to have him home. The headline on the paper read "Nixon Resigns Post". Other than the correct answer, all the dates (not days) are of my family members' birthdays.

Zachariah said this to Dean in "It's a Terrible Life". In the episode, Zachariah put Dean and Sam into a building with a ghost, but gave them normal jobs and no memories of being hunters, to prove to Dean that he was meant to be a hunter and could continue to fight.

Adam Milligan turned out to be their half-brother. He'd been fathered by John in late 1990, born in 1991. And though significant journal pages were missing, Sam deduced that Adam was truly their father's son. John had aided in the removal of an evil entity from a town in Minnesota all those years ago, but didn't know about Adam until 2004. It was discovered by Sam and Dean that John had come back to the town after he knew about Adam, but never revealed his true lifestyle to the young man. Jake Abel played Adam Milligan.

Dirk, as Sam learned in 2009, had lost his mother not long before the Winchesters attended school there in 1997. He lashed out, in true bully form, at kids that appeared weaker than he was, in order to alleviate some of his grief. He died at 18, of excessive partying and the like, and his dad saved a lock of his hair in a bible. While in school at Truman, Sam made friends with a weaker kid named Barry. Dean and Sam thought it was Barry haunting the school, after they found out he'd died of a suicide in 1998. They burned Barry's body to bind his ghost, but he wasn't the one haunting the school.. it was Dirk.
