Spider-Man joined the series in the fourth season and was played by Danny Seagren. In this first episode, The Spoiler (Skip Hinnant) spoiled someone's lunch by making a rubber glove sandwich. He also put a No Dogs Allowed sign on a hydrant, spoiling a canine's walk. He tossed a cake, spoiled it and went up to a woman eating ice cream and crushed it. He then had a showdown with Spider-Man, but our hero stopped him, though not before pushing him into a wall and causing it to collapse.

"The Adventures of Letterman" was an animation about the evil Spellbinder who waves a wand to change words around and cause trouble while Letterman comes to the rescue. In this episode, Letterman packed up his trunk for a vacation. The Spellbinder changed the word trunk to shrunk. Letterman shrunk to the size of a pea before changing the word to hunk and getting back to normal.

Spider-Man spent his day off at the ball park cheering on his favorite Mets player, Gumbo Grace Ivy (Skip Hinnant). The Wall (Jim Boyd) snuck up on him and knocked him out, giving the other team the lead. Spider-Man intervened and stopped him but the umpire (Morgan Freeman), berated him for going out in the field when it was restricted to ball players, instead of thanking him. Our hero also got his scorecard confiscated and was threatened with a $50 fine.

Instead of taking a handful, he grabbed the entire bunch and wolfed them all down. His companions were disgusted and walked out while an oblivious and gluttonous Greg continued to hog the grapes.

Jim Boyd played Mr. Prescott, principal of P.S. 8 and A Half. He played several practical jokes on the students, such as stuffing jumping giraffes in their books, substituting chocolate pie with mud and gluing phones on the receiver. This was in revenge for previous pranks played on him. He decided don't get mad, get even.

The original Short Circus consisted of June Angela, Irene Cara, Douglas Grant, Stephen Gustafson and Melanie Henderson. Irene Cara left the show after the first season and succeeded by Denise Nickerson. Douglas Grant and Denise Nickerson were replaced in the third season by Gregg Burge and Bayn Johnson. In the fifth season, Gustafson, Henderson, Burge and Johnson were succeeded by Todd Graff, Rodney Lewis, Janina Mathews and Rejane Magloire.
