"Minder" was created by the writer Leon Griffiths. The series was first broadcast in October 1979 and spanned a very long and impressive 15 years, finally coming to an end in March 1994. During that time, George Cole played the loveable but unscrupulous "entrepreneur" Arthur Daley.

Arthur constantly referred to his wife as "Er Indoors". Horace Rumpole of "Rumpole of the Baily" fame called Hilda, his wife, "She Who Must Be Obeyed". The other two are common names given to wives! To my knowledge, "Er Indoors" never appeared in the show.
