1. Cameron is suffering from a glitch again on "Ourselves Alone" and does something that Sarah had earlier told her not to do. What is this accident, the result of a damaged arm?

The unfortunate bird had chosen to nest in the Connors' chimney; Cameron had suggested that she kill it, but Sarah told her in no uncertain terms not to do so. Cameron now finds the bird loose in the living room; she grabs it and takes it outside to set it free, but her glitchy hand had held the poor bird too tight. She tells John what happened with the bird, and they attempt repairs on her arm using a stockpile of Terminator parts that were believed to have been (and supposed to have been) destroyed. Realizing that her glitch may be beyond repair, Cameron tells John that she has planted an explosive near her chip and gives him the detonator, to keep with him at all times.

In her first major acting role, Scotswoman Shirley Manson of the rock band Garbage portrays the enigmatic T-1001 (liquid metal Terminator) who assumes the identity of Catherine Weaver. In this, her debut episode, ZeiraCorp CEO Weaver procures the intelligent, chess-playing A.I. known as the Turk. Weaver makes the bold claim to ZeiraCorp employees that her cryptic and curiously named new A.I. project, Babylon (named after a city in the Bible), will "change the world." The song "Samson and Delilah" (alternatively titled, "If I Had My Way"), was performed by the Grateful Dead in the 1970s, and by Blind Willie Johnson in 1927. It is based around the Biblical story of Samson, whose God-given strength relied on his hair remaining uncut, and his betrayer, Delilah. Shirley Manson's version for "T:TSCC" features some altered lyrics, more suited to the events that occur as it is being played. Ironically, at the end of the episode, John cuts his hair.

When Weaver finds that Savannah is missing, she and Ellison come to John Henry, who keeps a watchful eye on everything happening in the building. He reveals that Savannah is hiding, it's a game! He gives clues, they must figure out what he is thinking. Ellison grows increasingly angry, feeling this "game" is ridiculous, but Weaver insists that they play along. Ellison realizes that Savannah is on ZeiraCorp's helicopter pad, where they find her safe and sound. John Henry gets a talking-to from mentor Ellison about keeping secrets, but lies and secrecy still abound at ZeiraCorp.

More puzzle pieces fall into place when, in flashbacks of the future, we hear Australian Resistance fighter Jesse Flores use the same "carrots and apples" expression. Revealed in later episodes, Jesse brought Riley back in time, so that John would develop feelings for Riley and, when Cameron was forced to kill her, John would turn against Cameron. Ultimately, Jesse herself kills Riley, framing Cameron, whom she believes has a corruptive influence upon John.

Due to this "excitement" the struggling actor's career posthumously receives a surge in popularity. As Cromartie places his captive, Michelle Dixon (Charley's wife), into a trap that makes use of mousetraps, he recounts the device's history: the mousetrap was invented in 1897 by James Atkinson. According to Cromartie, its record of snapping shut in 38 thousandths of a second has not been beaten, and "it is hard to build a better one." Cromartie's own "mousetrap" for John is very nearly successful. With Michelle in the T-888's hands, Charley has little option but to call for Sarah's help, leaving John alone with Cameron. John, trying to ditch Cameron to hang out with girlfriend Riley, has a narrow escape, but Michelle was not so fortunate: Cromartie's trap costs her life.

The Jimmy Carter's crew abandon the submarine, leaving it and the T-1001 deep in the water. Just before Jesse leaves, she comes face to face with the machine, who gives her a cryptic message for John Connor: "The answer is no." After returning to Serrano Point, a very angry Jesse has a confrontation with Cameron who refuses to let her speak with Connor, saying, "Telling me is the same as telling John." Yes, Dietz was onto something by questioning Connor and his dependence on the machines. Jesse relays the message of "no" to Cameron, who reveals that the question had been, "Will you join us?" Cameron then tells Jesse that she is sorry for her loss: Jesse had been pregnant and now, was not.

The things he had seen before lead him to understand Sarah's story of a future war, and evil machines. He provides IDs and passports for John and Cameron and a message from Sarah to John, delivered by Chola. Sarah wants John to leave, not to think of her or come for her. Chola adds her own message for John: "We lose everybody we love," something she, the survivor of a massacre, knows well.

Unfortunately, John "Baum" is recognized as John Connor, Cromartie tracks John to Mexico (with Sarah tied up in his vehicle's trunk), and Ellison gets involved when he hears of John Connor's arrest. John's phone call to Derek, an alarm code, sends Derek and Cameron to Mexico, as well. Following Cromartie's slaughter at the jail, he seals his fate by following Ellison into the village church - it's a trap! "Have you come to repent?" Ellison asks Cromartie, who replies, "I'm looking for John Connor." Well, you found him, Cromartie - gunfire pours down upon Cromartie from multiple directions. The death blow is dealt by John Connor. Cromartie's chipless body is buried for retrieval later, his chip is destroyed. It's all over - or is it?
