1. In the pilot episode of "Walker, Texas Ranger", who did Jimmy Trivette (Clarence Gilyard) tell Cordell Walker (Chuck Norris) was his childhood TV inspiration for his law enforcement career?
From Quiz Walker, Texas Ranger
Answer:
John Reid
As the story goes, John Reid was one of five Texas Rangers dispatched to locate and apprehend a gang of outlaws. Along the road, the Rangers were ambushed by the outlaws. Four Rangers, including a Ranger captain who was John Reid's brother were killed. John Reid was seriously wounded and left for dead by the outlaws. Near death, Reid was found by an Indian scout, who treated his wounds and nursed him back to health. To conceal the fact that Reid had survived the attack, the Indian scout buried the four dead Rangers and made a fifth grave for John Reid. The Indian scout recognized a necklace worn by Reid as the one he had made and given to a "kimosabe" (trusted friend) who had rescued him many years earlier from a group of angry frontiersmen. When fully recovered, Reid abandoned his true identity, wore a black mask, and with the aid of his trusted Indian companion, Tonto. fought for law and order as The "Lone Ranger". Watching "The Lone Ranger" television program in his Baltimore, Maryland home as a child served as inspiration for a young Jimmy Trivette.
