Masane's friends made this name up for her when they couldn't pronounce her name right. Mostly, everyone in Masane's apartment building (it's a restaurant too) stumbled over her name and called her something that is close to her name. She objects at first, but then goes along with it.

Masane kills Maria on top of the Tokyo Tower after asking her what she would do with the Witchblade.
