Bejeweled Trivia Questions

1. Throughout the game, you'll receive special comments from the announcer. Who is the game's announcer?

From Quiz
"Bejeweled 3"

Answer: Zachary Throne

If you played "Bejeweled Blitz", then you'll love this guy. He is known as "The Voice". Hajba composed the game's music by the way.

2. What is the main objective of "Bejeweled 2 Deluxe"?

From Quiz A Gem of a Game: "Bejeweled 2 Deluxe"

Answer: To match three gems of a kind in a row horizontally or vertically

The fundamental goal of the game is to match three gems of the same color either horizontally or vertically. You do this by moving each gem with the pointer, swapping it with its neighbor. When you make the match, those gems disappear, point totals briefly appear and more random gems fall from the top to refill the game board. Matching four or five is also possible, each with its own result, but three in a row is the basic minimum. There are characteristic sound effects as well, and the game's voice offers praise for particularly good moves, such as when a chain reaction or 'cascade' occurs.

3. Besides the basic gems, "Bejeweled 2 Deluxe" includes other game pieces that appear after the first few levels of play, Power Gems and Hyper Cubes, both of whose effects are destructive. How are they different?

From Quiz A Gem of a Game: "Bejeweled 2 Deluxe"

Answer: Power Gems explode while Hyper Cubes zap with lightning.

Though their means are different, both Power Gems and Hyper Cubes destroy other gems upon being swapped. When swapped into a match configuration, a Power Gem blows up a contained area of three by three squares. When swapped with any gem, the Hyper Cube sends out lightning all around the game board. Both these actions produce very satisfying sound effects.

4. Which word completes this following quote? "_______ Speed!"

From Quiz "Bejeweled 3"

Answer: Blazing

When you get twenty-four speed matches in Lightning mode, then this ability will occur. The board will be on fire and you'll earn bigger points.

5. What happens if you match four gems of a kind?

From Quiz A Gem of a Game: "Bejeweled 2 Deluxe"

Answer: Formation of a Power Gem with a minor explosion

Rather than simply being cleared and replaced by new random gems, as with a three-in-a-row match, four matched gems explode with a sound similar to the tinkle of breaking glass to form one power gem. When placed in its own match configuration, the power gem will then explode more spectacularly. When it is transformed into a Power Gem, a gem keeps its color, shape and size while beginning to scintillate like a star.

6. What is the total score for nine speed matches and a match with a Star Gem multiplied by 16 in Lightning Mode?

From Quiz "Bejeweled 3"

Answer: 80,000

When a Star Gem is matched, you'll earn 4,000 points. Add that to the speed bonus of 1,000 and you'll have 5,000 total points. The Score Multiplier increases your total score as you progress.

7. What happens when you swap a gem or a Power Gem with a Hyper Cube?

From Quiz A Gem of a Game: "Bejeweled 2 Deluxe"

Answer: The Hyper Cube destroys itself, the swapped gem and all gems of that color.

The Hyper Cube's lightning destroys gems of the same color as the one it was swapped with. For instance, if you swap a green octagon with a Hyper Cube, the Hyper Cube will shoot out green lightning and zap green octagons around the game board. This property can be of great strategic value in Puzzle mode.

8. How do you solve puzzles in Puzzle mode?

From Quiz A Gem of a Game: "Bejeweled 2 Deluxe"

Answer: By clearing the game board

Unlike in the game modes, the goal of Puzzle mode is to clear all pieces from the game board. In a number of puzzles there is only one way to do so.

9. How many worlds are there in Puzzle mode and how many puzzles make up each world?

From Quiz A Gem of a Game: "Bejeweled 2 Deluxe"

Answer: Sixteen worlds with five puzzles in each

You may visit a world's puzzles in any order, replaying ones you have already solved. But only when you have solved four out of the five may you, if you wish, proceed to the next world. Each world or planet has its own name and a distinct look/feel thanks to the game's artwork. They also specialize, with different types of puzzles appearing on each. The planets are as follows: Centuari Prime: This world focuses on double matching and basic matches Tau Heximus: This world focuses on Power Gems. Ceti Alpha V: This world focuses on Hyper Cubes Seraph III: This world introduces and focuses on rocks. Verithrax II: This world focuses on moving gems in empty spaces. Maya III: This world only contains White Gems and Rocks in checker style. Hegemon V: This world introduces and focuses on Bomb Gems. Tororoid X: This world only contains Red and White Gems in checker style. Channon Doa: This world focuses on patterns as well as moving gems on empty spaces. Gamma Core: This world only has Red, Orange, Yellow, and White Gems in arrow formations. Viceroy VII: This world focuses on Power Gems again. Sequentus Beta: This world focuses on good timing on Bombs. Lexicon Delta: This world contains gems in checker forms as well as gems in 6x6 formations. Gaean Reach: This world focuses on checker style again, only contains Red, Blue, and White gems. Virago Ceti: This world focuses again on patterns. Dorsal Miner: This world revisits patterns.
