When the Wei army defeats Chun Yuqiong at the supply depot, the entire Wei army advances on Yuan Shao, and Zhang He and his sub-officer Gao Lan defect and try to kill him too.

2. How is the advance of Yuan Shao at the Battle of Chang Shan prompted when playing as Lu Bu or Diao Chan?

Answer: Defeat Zhang Yan then do not go past the defense base he is in for a certain period of time.

When playing as Lu Bu or Diao Chan, Diao Chan will first say to defeat Zhang Yan, then: "Let's hold off and regroup with our hosts." This means: do not advance beyond the defense base Zhang Yan was in for those who didn't know.

Answer: Nobunaga Oda

Nobunaga Oda was in 'Dynasty Warriors 1' as a secret character - which makes NO sense considering he wouldn't be born for another 1300 years and in a different country! He is one of the main characters for Koei's spin-off series 'Samurai Warriors'.

6. What happens when you defeat Zhuge Liang in Wu Zhang Plains?

Answer: A shooting star appears and the Wei army advances.

Zhuge Liang historically died of illness during this battle, however he foresaw this and incorporated it into his battle strategy. The Shu army therefore won this battle. However, in this game, Jiang Wei is relegated to an ambush officer as opposed to Shu's tactical successor.

7. How do you stop the flame-breathing, immobile castle defenses at He Fei Castle (Wu Forces?)

The good thing about this is that Wei gets these indestructible defenses when you are playing as them too. This helps to stall the Wu advance, and they assist you in defeating officers.

Answer: He is the only non-playable Grand Commander.

He is only present in the Yellow Turban rebellion and never appears in the game again. However, in later games, other Grand Commanders become non-playable such as Zhang Xiu and Huang Zu.

Zhang Bao uses the wind against the oncoming Wei army and He Jin's forces. Zhang Liang uses falling rocks against the oncoming Wu army and He Jin's forces. There is a cutscene with Zhang Jiao where he summons fire in his hands and kills people in the cutscene, but during the game, he does nothing.

10. At the Battle of Cheng Du, what occurs when Pang Tong falls to Zhang Ren's ambush?

Losing Pang Tong is not much of a disadvantage, since Liu Bei wll take his place anyway. However, Zhang Ren will advance too, and he has high morale, so the downside is that Liu Bei will be in danger.

Answer: The memory card icon is spread throughout the battlefield, once you find it you save the game.

In each level, there are 2 or 3 boxes which give you the save icon. After a save, your health and musou bar are fully replenished.

12. At the Battle of Guan Du, Cao Cao's Forces, which requirements must be fulfilled before Yuan Shao opens Wu Chao?

Unlike in "Dynasty Warriors 4", Bai Ma and Yan Jin must in fact stay intact for a certain time after Yan Liang has been defeated. Then Yuan Shao will open Wu Chao, and until you defeat Chunyu Qiong, Yuan Shao's Forces morale will skyrocket.

13. There are 2 special items in this game. 1 is never used again, one is seen again but has a completely different effect. What are the 2 items and in this game, what are their effects?

Answer: Liu Chan which gives you 2000 points, and an attack plus 10.

Liu Chan is found hidden in the Chang Ban stage. The attack plus 10 is received for defeating Xiahou En (Any stage), Zhao Yun (Chang Ban), and Zhang Liao (He Fei).

14. Defeating Gan Ning at the Battle of He Fei, Wei Forces, triggers what?

Gan Ning is a very difficult foe as he is in Hyper Mode, so the morale increase is fairly well deserved. The music doesn't change to "Swept Away" or the Wei Army charge until Cao Ren arrives as reinforcements.

The 8 are Cao Cao, Xiahou Dun, Xiahou Yuan, Sun Jian, Liu Bei, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei and Zhang Jiao (the enemy commander). This is the only level Zhang Jiao appears in, as it's the level of his death.

Xiahou Yuan worked with Cao Cao from the very beginning, commanding a division of his lords army. He was famous for his lightning quick attacks and had a long list of accomplishments including the defeat of the great general Ma Chao. He missed Huang Zhong with an arrow from a mile away saying " no man could accomplish this", Huang Zhong proved him wrong however piercing Xiahou Yuan straight through the chest.

Hao Zhao will bring in a fire arrow unit, but it's pretty useless, as Hao Zhao's morale will be non-existent by this point. You will have set several siege ramps up by now, so there's no challenge.

Answer: Obtain 1000 KOs during Hu Lao Gate.

Obtaining 1000 KOs has an extra effect - it raises the morale of every officer in your army to 8 stars (the maximum). This has a very noticable effect as none of your officers can be defeated by any enemy officer who has less than 8 stars in their morale.

21. How many famous officers are in the stage Hu Lao Gate?

The 12 officers are Dong Zhuo, Lu Bu, Diao Chan, Zhang Liao, Sun Jian, Yuan Shao, Cao Cao, Liu Bei, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Xiahou Dun and Xiahou Yuan. Dong Zhuo, Lu Bu and Diao Chan do not appear again, however Zhang Liao joins Wei after this battle and is fighting for Cao Cao at Guan Du.

22. Are there any special requirements to unlock characters, other than completing a certain amount of Musou modes, and excluding Lu Bu?

Other than Lu Bu, none of the characters have special requirements. This is changed in 'Dynasty Warriors 3' where certain requirements - such as Sun Quan jumping over a bridge - need to be met before the character is unlocked.

Cao Cao, Liu Bei, Yuan Shao, Zhang Fei, Guan Yu, Xiahou Dun, Xiahou Yuan, Xu Zhu, Zhang Liao and Dian Wei are the 10 famous officers that appear in this battle. This is Yuan Shao's last battle in the game as he is defeated here. When Guan Yu is close to Liu Bei and Zhang Fei, all 3 disappear from the level entirely.

24. This character is not playable. He helped his fellow officer Gao Shun escape from Xiahou Dun by shooting an arrow that pierced his left eye, but the frenzied Xiahou Dun retaliated and split open this mans skull, but can you guess who it is?
