The only known photograph from this inauguration shows John Wilkes Booth, as well as others who were involved in the conspiracy to assassinate Lincoln, were present for the occasion. Lincoln's speech is engraved in the Lincoln Memorial. Lincoln was also the first president who was not born in the thirteen original colonies.
