Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The number of times 9 appears as an answer to all the questions?

Answer: 0

All the numbers are asked for in this quiz, So the total of all answers must be 10. If a 9 did appear then another question would have to result in the answer of 9, whilst another would have to explain how that number got there. Therefore there are no 9's as answers
2. The number of times 8 appears as an answer to all the questions?

Answer: 0

If 8 appeared there would have to be at least two others with positive answers, again adding to more than 10.
3. The number of times 7 appears as an answer to all the questions?

Answer: 0

If seven appeared it means that a total of three must be made up of the remaining numbers. This could be 2,1 or 1,1,1 , the first is not possible as there is only one of each number and the second is not possible as there would be three 1's. Therefore there are no sevens.
4. The number of times 6 appears as an answer to all the questions?

Answer: 1

A 6 would require the other answers to be a 2 and two 1's which is possible, so will return to this question.
5. The number of times 5 appears as an answer to all the questions.

Answer: 0

If a five is correct then two the other answers would be 4,1 or 3,1,1 or 2,2,1 or 2,1,1,1 or 1,1,1,1,1 None of these complete the specifications, therefore there are no fives.
6. The number of times 4 appears as an answer to all the questions?

Answer: 0

Two or more fours are not applicable as there is not enough room to play with the remaining numbers.
If there is one 4 then the remaining total of six could be 3,2,1 or 2,2,2 or 3,1,1,1 or 2,1,1,1,1 or 1,1,1,1,1,1 none of which can be explained within the adding constraints. Therefore there are no fours.
7. The number of times 3 appears as an answer to all the questions?

Answer: 0

We have now identified that zero occurs at least 5 times, but it is not 5,7 8 or 9 and must be 6. Thus the answer to question ten is 6 and to question four 1. Question 9 must be at least one. This question must be zero, giving us our sixth zero.
8. The number of times 2 appears as an answer to all the questions?

Answer: 1

This cannot be zero as all zeros have been accounted for and 2 or 3 would mean the total of all answers would be greater than ten, therefore there must only be one.
9. The number of times 1 appears as an answer to all the questions?

Answer: 2

The total of all the other known answers is 8 so this must be 2 and as the answers to questions 4 and 8 are both 1 this fits the bill.
10. The number of times 0 appears as an answer to all the questions?

Answer: 6

Thus giving the sequence of 0,0,0,1,0,0,0,1,2,6 a total of 10 so every answer is accounted for.
