Your Internet Service Provider, or ISP, is those people you call whenever your connection fails for no reason! They may have also sent someone to install your internet setup, be it wireless or hardwired.

A wireless internet connection is common in homes that have more than one computer or homes in which a laptop is the most used computer. They may also be used if it's inconvenient to set up a wired connection where the household's desktop is. A wireless router is used to broadcast connection on a limited range throughout the household.

It is advised that owners use a password to secure their connections. Although it would be nice to think that you could just nicely let your neighbor freeload off your connection out of kindness, leaving your network unsecured could leave you open to outside threats.

Founded in 1998, Google would go on to become the early 21st century's most successful search engine (and mammoth advertiser to boot). With services like Google Images, Maps, Showtimes, et cetera, there's not much you can't find on Google. In 2011, they released their first home computer OS, dubbed Chrome OS. Based on their 2008 internet browser, Google Chrome, Chrome OS was developed with internet-heavy computer usage.

In fact, there's no desktop! It's just a browser, and Google touts its quick start-up speeds and usability as its selling points.

Although I don't think it will replace Windows (or is really trying to), my favorite OS, I must admit that I'm typing this quiz from Chrome OS. I got it on pre-release, and I highly recommend you check one out!

Browsing is something you likely do every time you get online. It entails mindlessly meandering about the internet looking for something interesting. It's usually not hard to find something amusing.

Answer: Flame war

A flame war is internet jargon for an argument that is blown way out of proportion on the internet. It usually involves starkly opposing viewpoints and lots of name-calling, but it can sometimes get way too far out of hand. Trolls, or people that intentionally say something controversial in a sensitive area of the internet, are often the cause of this.

It seems to me that the veil of anonymity provided by usernames lead people to speak more violently and confidently than they would in public. But, at the very least, it's humorous for us onlookers.

An IP address, or Internet Protocol Address, is a series of numbers used in identifying any device that communicates via internet protocol. It is unique to each device and serves as a means of identification and addressing. The first version, IPv4 worked well for awhile until it was predicted that the number of combinations of numbers would run out rather quickly.

In the early 21st century, devices would begin to use the IPv6 system.

Answer: World Wide Web

The World Wide Web is commonly used as a synonym of the internet. Indeed, for all intents and purposes, it is. It is also what the "www" before "funtrivia.com" in your address bar stands for.

Multiplayer gaming was revolutionized when it was introduced on PCs in the '90s. Later, it would boom into wider appeal when Sony's PlayStation 2 and Microsoft's Xbox introduced online services for great numbers of players in the early 2000s. Since the, developers have begun to scramble to include some kind of online functionality with their games. Even single player games will often have achievements that can be shown off online or leaderboards where players can compete in various ways.

Viruses, worms, and trojans are all forms of malware that can infect computers. They can be used to perform any function you can imagine, but most are used for more conniving plans, such as identity theft.

Answer: HyperText Markup Language

HyperText Markup Language, or HTML, is a prominent programming language for coding for websites. Although it is highly useful, there are some things it can't do alone, which you can clearly see by having the option of loading an HTML or Flash quiz. HTML5 is the first version of the language that seeks to a sweeping integration of more interactive media that can be coded straight from the language.
