Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How to play: The last three letters of each answer become the first three letters of the next answer. Eg: ApPLE, PLEntiFUL, FULsome. If you get stuck on an answer, it may be possible to skip forward then work your way back. If there is more than one answer to a question, make sure it fits with the following question. All answers are single words. The first and last answers share a common link. Good luck! First word: Beginning with 'B' which band of mop-tops set hearts fluttering when they burst onto the music scene in the '60s?

Answer: Beatles

Formed in Liverpool in 1960, the Beatles took the world by storm and remain to this day, one of the most influential bands in music history. They spent their first years in Germany and at home in Liverpool honing their skills. Their first hit 'Love Me Do', released in 1962 after Ringo Starr joined the band, featured John Lennon playing the harmonica.
2. Beginning with the last three letters of the previous answer, who is the person named on the rent agreement?

Answer: Lessee

The last word was 'Beatles', so this word must begin with 'LES'.

The person signing a rent or lease agreement is known as the lessee or renter.
3. Beginning with the last three letters of the previous answer, what position did Harry Potter play on his house Quidditch team?

Answer: Seeker

The last word was 'Lessee', so this word must begin with 'SEE'.

A seeker is someone who looks for something, much like explorers. From the movie 'Jumanji': 'A game for those who seek to find a way to leave their world behind'.

The seeker's job in Quidditch is to catch the Golden Snitch before the other team's seeker.
4. Beginning with the last three letters of the previous answer, name the green Muppet loved by Miss Piggy.

Answer: Kermit

The last word was 'Seeker', so this word must begin with 'KER'.

Kermit the Frog is arguably Jim Henson's most famous Muppet character. Voiced by Jim Henson himself until his death in 1990, Kermit was created in 1955 and first appeared on a television show called 'Sam and Friends'. Kermit and diva pig Miss Piggy first began their on-again/off-again relationship in 1978 but split up in 2015.
5. Beginning with the last three letters of the previous answer, what is an eight-legged arachnid related to ticks?

Answer: Mite

The last word was 'Kermit', so this word must begin with 'MIT'.

Mites are tiny arthropods in the class Arachnida, and are widespread, being found in water, soil, on plants or animals. Most mites are harmless to humans but one species causes scabies and may induce allergic reactions.
6. Beginning with the last three letters of the previous answer, what is a name for each individual article in a set, list or collection?

Answer: Item

Items are the individual components which comprise a whole. To make a list of these units is to itemise them.
7. Beginning with the last three letters of the previous answer, What is the speed at which musical compositions are played? (Alternative spelling for plural form)

Answer: Tempos

The last word was 'Item', so this word must begin with 'TEM'.

The tempo of a musical piece is counted in beats per minute and ranges from Larghissimo (very very slow, 24bpm or less) to Prestissimo (over 200bpm).

The Italian spelling of the plural form is 'tempi', but accepted spelling in the English language is 'tempos'.
8. Beginning with the last three letters of the previous answer, what is another name for a show-off?

Answer: Poser

The last word was 'Tempos', so this word must begin with 'POS'.

To pose is to sit or position in a certain way for a photograph, painting or sculpture, and the person who does this is the subject (or poser). The term has evolved and developed a slightly derogatory meaning for someone who is an exhibitionist or self-promoter.
9. Beginning with the last three letters of the previous answer, what is a lecture or talk given by a religious leader?

Answer: Sermon

The last word was 'Poser', so this word must begin with 'SER'.

A sermon is a formal speech given by a member of a religious institution and usually has a moralistic theme. It may also focus on scriptures and laws from the Bible or relevant religious text.
10. Final word with something in common with the first word. Name the musical band created specifically for a television show.

Answer: Monkees

The last answer was 'Sermon', so this word must begin with 'MON'.

Bob Rafelson had the idea about a 'Monkees' type group in 1962 but it didn't come to fruition until 1965. According to band member Micky Dolenz, the show was about "a TV show about an imaginary band... that wanted to be the Beatles but was never successful". Despite, or perhaps because of this, the show was very popular and the fabricated band was very successful during the 1960s. Aside from Dolenz. other band members were Davy Jones, Peter Tork and Mike Nesmith.
