Al Green was born on the 13 April 1946 in Forrest City, Arkansas, and is a hugely popular soul and R & B star.

"Let's Stay Together" was released in 1971 and was from Al's album of the same name. The song reached number one on the US Billboard Chart and has been covered by numerous artists since.
2. Cilla - singer of "Alfie"

Born Priscilla White on 27 May 1943, Cilla was a much-loved singer and TV presenter from Liverpool, England. She sadly passed away in 2015.

"Alfie" was written by the legendary songwriting duo Bacharach and David and released by Cilla in 1966. The song came from the film of the same name starring the great Michael Caine.
3. Melanie - one fifth of the Spice Girls whose hits include "Wannabe"

Melanie Brown (better known as Mel B) was born 29 May 1975, in Leeds, England. Along with Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell, Victoria Adams and Melanie Chisholm, she was part of the hugely successful Spice Girls, who dominated the UK music scene in the mid-to-late 1990s.

"Wannabe" was the band's debut hit and the first of the group's many Number Ones. The song was released in the summer of 1996, paving way for a new generation of girl power.

"Can't Get Enough Of Your Love, Babe", was released in July 1974 and became Barry's second US Number One. The song was taken from the album "Can't Get Enough" and was one of his most popular tunes.

Drummer Meg and singer and guitarist Jack formed the White Stripes in 1997. Their songs include the massive hit "Seven Nation Army, released in 2003. Meg is known for her extreme shyness and rarely gives interviews. The band eventually split in 2011.

Born December 19 1941, Maurice White gained fame during the mid-to-late 1960s with a succession of bands before hitting the big time with Earth, Wind and Fire. The group won 6 Grammys with songs including "Boogie Wonderland" and "After The Love Has Gone", both of which were released in 1979. Maurice sadly passed away in 2016.
