Answer: Raymond Burr

Raymond William Stacey Burr was born in 1917, in New Westminster, British Columbia. He began his acting career in 1941 and had parts in over 60 movies. His break came when he portrayed an attorney in the 1951 film, "A Place in the Sun" with Elizabeth Taylor and Montgomery Clift.

He was also in Alfred Hitchcock's "Rear Window", with James Stewart and Grace Kelly. Raymond Burr died of cancer in 1993, at the age of 76.
2. This Canadian TV actor starred in the well known series "Bonanza" as Ben Cartwright. What is his name?

Answer: Lorne Greene

Lyon Chaim Greene was born in Ottawa, Ontario in 1915 and died in 1987 at the age of 72. He started his career in chemical engineering, but gave that up for radio broadcasting. He worked for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) and became known as the "Voice of Canada" for his role in World War II broadcasting.

He actually invented a stopwatch that ran backwards to let broadcasters know how much time they had left in their programs. Lorne Green had many roles in his career, including a prosecutor in the movie "Peyton Place", Commander Adama in the television series "Battlestar Gallactica" and Kunta Kinte's first master in the mini-series, "Roots". Greene also had number one music single in the 1960s with, "Ringo".

He was best known as Ben Cartwright, father of Adam, Hoss and Little Joe and owner of "The Ponderosa".

Answer: Leslie Nielsen

Leslie William Nielsen was born 11th February 1926 in Regina, Saskatchewan, but was raised in the Northwest Territories as his father, being a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police was stationed there. His brother, Erik Nielsen, was Deputy Prime Minister of Canada under Prime Minister Brian Mulroney from 1984 to 1986. Leslie Nielsen has been in over 100 films in his career, which spans from 1956 to the present year of 2008.

Some of these include Commander John J. Adams in the 1956 movie "Forbidden Planet, Admiral Frazer in 1985's "The Patriot", Count Dracula in "Dracula, Dead and Loving It" and President Harris in the "Scary Movie" series. Nielsen has been married four times and has two daughters.

He liked to play golf in his spare time.

He died in 2010.
4. Which Canadian actor played the roles of Captain James T. Kirk and T.J. Hooker?

Answer: William Shatner

William Shatner was born in 1931, in Montreal, Quebec. He trained as a Shakespearean actor and played a number of roles in Canadian theater, before becoming known to "Star Trek" fans as Captain James T. Kirk in the T.V. series that ran from 1966 to 1969.

He found it difficult to find work for some years after Star Trek, but starred in guest roles on some popular television series' such as "The Six Million Dollar Man" and "Columbo". In 1979, he was cast in "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" and starred in all of its sequels. From 1982 to 1986, Shatner played police detective T.J. Hooker in the series of the same name.

He has won two Emmy awards and one Golden Globe award for his role as Denny Crane on "Boston Legal". William Shatner has had roles in at least 60 movies and over 80 television shows in his long career.

He has also authored the science fiction series "TekWar", and has a star on both the Canadian Walk of Fame and the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Monty Halparin was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on 25th August 1921. He hosted other game shows, such as "Bingo at Home" and "Strike it Rich", but was very well known as the host of "Let's Make a Deal". The game show ran for almost fifteen years alternately on ABC and NBC.

He is one of only two game show hosts that has his name on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His name is also used for the title of a probability puzzle game called "The Monty Hall Problem."

Genevieve Bujold is a French-Canadian actress from Montreal, Quebec. She has starred in numerous television programs and movies, including the two mentioned as well as "The Trojan Women", "Dead Ringers" and "Earthquake". She won an Emmy nomination for her performance as Joan of Arc, in a Hallmark Hall of Fame presentation in 1967.

She was also won a Golden Globe award and was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance as Anne Boleyn in "Anne of the Thousand Days".

Born Arthur Christopher Orme Plummer in 1929, this Canadian theater, film and television actor's career spans over five decades. He is the great grandson of Canada's fourth Prime Minister, John Abbott. Plummer began his career in theater in the early 1950's and went on to star in many award winning Broadway plays.

In his long acting career, he has had roles in many notable films, including, "The Man Who Would Be King", "Twelve Monkeys", "Battle of Britain" and "A Beautiful Mind". He has also had roles in such Emmy award winning TV mini-series' as "The Thorn Birds" and "Jesus of Nazareth".

He has won numerous awards for his talents, including an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series for Arthur Hailey's "The Moneychangers".

Tommas (Tommy) Chong is the Canadian half of the duo. Richard Anthony (Cheech) Marin is a Mexican American. Cheech and Chong are known for their comedy movies, "Up in Smoke", "Cheech and Chong's Next Movie" and "Nice Dreams". Cheech and Chong split in 1985 and it is said that Chong was devastated, as he considered Cheech to be family. Thomas Chong went on to roles in television shows "Miami Vice", "Dharma and Greg", "That 70's Show" and others. Chong's beautiful daughters with wife Maxine Sneed, Rae Dawn Chong and Robbi Chong, are also models/actresses.

She has starred in "The Amityville Horror", "Black Christmas" and "The Great Waldo Pepper" and has appeared in various other television shows and movies. Margot Kidder became an American citizen in 2005, so as not to have to worry about being deported and to be active in her protests about the U.S. involvement in Iraq.

Although "Jeopardy!" has been running since Merv Griffin created it in the 1960's, it has been most successful since Alex Trebek became host in 1984. Alex Trebek was born George Alexander Trebek in Sudbury, Ontario in 1940. He has been the host of at least 20 game or quiz shows in his career, including one April Fool's episode of Wheel of Fortune.

He has also had appearances, mostly as himself in television programs such as "Cheers", "The Simpsons" and "The Golden Girls". Alex has won four Daytime Emmy awards for Outstanding Game Show Host.

He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame that reads; "Who is Alex Trebek?" Trebek became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1998.

Frederick Alan Moranis was born in Toronto, Ontario in 1954. He started his career on the Canadian television series, SCTV and played alongside Dave Thomas as "Bob" of "Bob and Doug McKenzie". Bob and Doug popularized the term "hoser", referring to an idiot, a loser, or one who drinks a lot of beer.

It originally meant a person who "hosed" down the ice after a hockey game. Rick Moranis has appeared in several movies, including "Ghostbusters", "Spaceballs", "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" and "Little Shop of Horrors".

While appearing on SCTV, he impersonated such famous people as Woody Allen, Richard Dreyfuss, Elton John and Neil Young to name a few.

John Candy was a wonderful comedy actor, who was born in 1950 and died in 1994. Along with Rick Moranis, Catherine O'Hara, Eugene Levy and Martin Short, John Candy's first success was with Second City Television (SCTV). John Candy had roles in nearly 50 films in his short career.

Some of the others include, "The Blues Brothers", "Brewster's Millions", "Home Alone" and on of my favorites, "Cool Runnings", which was a movie about the Jamaican, bobsled team in the 1988 Winter Olympics. His roles were mostly comedic, although he played the serious role of lawyer Dean Andrews in the movie "JFK". John Candy died of a heart attack in 1994, while filming "Wagons East".

His father also died of heart failure at the young age of 35.
13. Which Canadian actor is best known for his portrayal of Austin Powers?

Answer: Mike Myers

Mike Myers was born and raised in Scarborough, Ontario. He started working in television commercials when he was about ten years old and made a commercial with Gilda Radner around that time. In the late 1980s, Myers landed work on Saturday Night Live, where he became famous as Wayne Campbell on the skit "Wayne's World" with Dana Carvey.

In 1992, "Wayne's World" was made into a movie and from then on Mike Myers started his film career. Some of his movie credits include "So I Married an Axe Murderer" and "The Cat in the Hat" as well as the Austin Powers series. Myers also did the voice of Shrek in all four "Shrek" movies.

Matthew Langford Perry was born in 1969 in Williamstown, Massachusetts, but was raised in Ottawa, Ontario by his mother, who was press secretary to Prime Minister, Pierre Elliott Trudeau. Matthew was a high-ranked, junior tennis player while growing up, but moved to Los Angeles to live with his father, John Bennett Perry, when he was 15 and became interested in acting.

As well as his role of Chandler Bing on "Friends", Perry has had roles in the movies "Fools Rush In", "The Whole Nine Yards" and at least nine other movies.

When "Friends" ended, Perry went on to direct the fourth season of "Scrubs", which he and his father both guest starred in. He also earned to Emmy nominations for his guest appearances in the T.V. series "The West Wing".

Neve Adrianne Campbell was born in Guelph, Ontario in 1973. She became famous in the 1990s, playing Julia Salinger in the T.V. series "Party of Five". Because of the series, she was forced to give up many other roles that came her way, so she decided to quit and pursue a career in the film industry.

Besides the "Scream" series and "Wild Things" (with Matt Dillon, Kevin Bacon and Denise Richards), some of her other credits include roles in "The Craft", "Drowning Mona" and "Three to Tango" with Matthew Perry.

He earned the nickname "The Wall" for being an tough goalie in high school. He also had a job sharpening ice skates and one of his early movie roles was with Rob Lowe in the hockey based film, "Youngblood". In 1995, he was chosen by "People" magazine as one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world. Keanu's many films include "Point Break", "The Replacements", Johnny Mnemonic" and "Sweet November".

He also starred in "My Own Private Idaho" with his best friend River Phoenix, who died of an overdose of heroin and cocaine in 1993. Keanu went through hard personal times in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

His daughter with girlfriend Jennifer Syme was stillborn in 1999 and in 2001, Syme was killed in a car accident.

Eric Idle of Monty Python once said that he was the only member of the SNL cast capable of being a Python. Dan Aykroyd has too many movie credits to list, but some are; "Caddyshack II", "Trading Places", "My Girl" and "Ghostbusters".

He maintains his Canadian residence and was made a Member of the Order of Canada in 1998.

Kiefer is a twin and is older than his sister, Rachel, by seven minutes. One of his best friends is hockey legend, Wayne Gretzky.

He has had great success in his role as Jack Bauer in "24", which is his first television series, but has also had much success in the movies. "The Lost Boys" was Sutherland's first major movie role.

Some of his other movie appearances include, "Flatliners", The Three Musketeers", "The Cowboy Way", "A Few Good Men", "Young Guns" and "A Time to Kill". He has been nominated for ten Emmy Awards for his series "24", but has only won twice.

James Eugene Redmond Carrey was born in Newmarket, Ontario in 1962. He is a popular film actor as well as a comedian. From the time he was very young, he was a performer and tried make anyone and everyone laugh. In the early 1980s, he was noticed by Rodney Dangerfield, while working in "The Comedy Store" in Los Angeles and was asked to open a tour for Dangerfield. That was a success and shortly after, his movie career took off.

He has starred in over twenty movies, including "The Mask", "Dumb and Dumber", "Liar, Liar", "Man on the Moon" and "The Cable Guy", to name a few. Carrey has won six Golden Globe Awards for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, one Screen Actors Guild Award for his role in "Man on the Moon", two People's Choice Awards.

He has also been nominated for more than twenty MTV Movie Awards, winning at least ten. One of these nominations was for Best Kiss with Jennifer Aniston in "Bruce Almighty".

Answer: Michael J. Fox

Michael J. Fox's birth name is Michael Andrew Fox, but he changed his middle initial to "J" when he started his acting career. He didn't want to be confused with actor Michael Fox and didn't like "Andrew Fox", "Andy Fox" or "Michael A. Fox", due to the chance that being a Canadian, he may be called Michael "Eh?" Fox. His first major role was that of Alex P. Keaton, the Republican teenager with former hippie parents in "Family Ties". In the mid 1980s he was cast as Marty McFly in "Back to the Future" after Canadian singer Corey Hart turned down the role. This role took Michael to stardom and from there he starred in both "Back to the Future" sequels as well as over fifteen other movies, including "Teen Wolf", "Casualties of War" and "Mars Attacks". His voice was used in both "Homeward Bound" movies and three "Stuart Little" movies.

Fox married actress Tracy Pollan in 1988. He was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 1991, but didn't share it publicly until 1998. The disease forced him to retire from the series "Spin City". He started the Michael J. Fox Foundation to help Parkinson's research and is an advocate of controversial stem-cell research, to possibly find a cure for the disease. Michael's mother, Phyllis also works and travels extensively to aid in fundraising for Parkinson's disease. In 2002, his memoir "Lucky Man" was published.
