They made ten wonderful movies together. They include "Flying Down to Rio"(1933), "The Gay Divorcee"(1934), "Top Hat"(1935), "Swing Time"(1936), "Shall We Dance"(1937) and "The Story of Vernon and Irene Castle"(1939). Those movies may seem rather dated today, but Rogers and Astaire dancing together is timeless.

Answer: False

Belafonte's first movie was "Bright Road" (1953), followed by "Carmen Jones" in 1964.

Burton played the part of Marc Antony in that film, Rex Harrison was Caesar. Richard Burton received seven Oscar nominations during a career of many fine performances. Sadly, he didn't win even once.

He was born in Vladivostok, Russia in 1915. His real name was Yul Brynner. He claimed that he was born Taidje Khan, but apparently made that up, according to a book published by his son in 1989. He gave a magnificent performance in "The King and I" (1956), winning an Oscar for it.

Douglas (born Issur Danielovitch) actually first appeared onscreen in "The Strange Love of Martha Ivers" (1946). After that came the classic film noir "Out of the Past" in 1947.

According to Mitchum himself, he was arrested for vagrancy and sentenced to a chain gang while a teenager. He went on to become a major Hollywood star and fine actor. Mitchum never gave a performance that wasn't fascinating, at least to me.

He was born in Miami, Florida in 1927. Although Poitier is actually from the Bahamas, he happened to be born in the United States while his parents were on a visit to Miami. He's appeared in many wonderful movies, and was awarded the Oscar for "Lilies of the Field" (1963).

Actually he was born Antonio Rudolfo Quinn in Chihuahua, Mexico, of mixed parentage. He won two Oscars, both for supporting roles, one for "Viva Zapata" (1952), and the other for "Lust for Life" (1956). He also fathered thirteen children in his lifetime.
18. Mickey Rooney was married to both Lana Turner and Ava Gardner.

Answer: False

He was married to Ava Gardner, but not Lana. (Bandleader Artie Shaw was married to Ava Gardner and Lana Turner at different times.) Mickey Rooney made many very successful films, in particular several musicals co-starring Judy Garland.
