Answer: Bugs Bunny

When Mel was creating a voice for Bugs Bunny, he thought Bugs was a "bit of a stinker" and he was trying to decide which accent was tougher - a Brooklyn or a Bronx accent. He couldn't decide and therefore combined the two, and created the voice we now all know as Bugs Bunny.

"Picador Porky" was released March 13, 1937 and was directed by Tex Avery.

Mel claimed to have no recollection of this but had been told of the incident by his wife and son who were both present at the time. In his autobiography, Mel gives Bugs Bunny credit with saving his life.
