"The Trouble With Angels" (1966) costarred Rosalind Russell, who played the Mother Superior at a Catholic girls' school. Hayley, in a slight departure from her Disney image, played an obnoxious teenager who was constantly causing trouble at the school.

Answer: In Search of the Castaways

"In Search of the Castaways" tells the story of a teenage girl and her younger brother who search for their missing father in the 19th century with the help of a British ship captain, his rather arrogant son, and a singing Frenchman (Maurice Chevalier). The special effects were considered fabulous at the time.

When Patty (Hayley's character) finds a wristwatch on her cat's neck with the letters HEL scribbled onto it, she takes the watch to the FBI, certain it is the property of a recently kidnapped bank teller.

"The Moon-Spinners" (1964) was a more adult-type role for Hayley when she finds mystery, drama, and romance on an island in the Mediterranean.

"The Chalk Garden" (1964) was one of Hayley's best dramatic roles. Costarring Deborah Kerr as her governess and John Mills (her father) as the butler, Hayley effectively portrays a lonely and emotionally confused teenager desperate for attention and affection.

"Tiger Bay" was released in 1959, starring Hayley as a 12-year-old girl who is the only witness of a grisly murder. "Pollyanna" (1960)was her second movie, followed by "The Parent Trap" and "Whistle Down the Wind," both in 1961.

Hayley married Ray Boulting, her director in "The Family Way" (1966), in 1971 after they'd lived together for nearly five years. They had a son, Crispian, in 1973, but the couple divorced in 1976.

"Endless Night" was considered one of Hayley's better adult movies before her career nose-dived in the 1970s. Although she was a talented actress, the movie offers basically quit coming in the late 1970s. Hayley starred in some TV movies in the late '70s and '80s (including the "Parent Trap" sequels), and she gained a brief TV show role in the late 1980s as a junior high schoolteacher on "Good Morning, Miss Bliss" (later known as "Saved By the Bell").

She performs mostly on stage now instead of before a camera.

"The Parent Trap" is my favorite Hayley Mills film, and it's her most popular. It was released in 1961 and tells the story of two identical twins who meet for the first time at summer camp, then "switch places" in an effort to reunite their divorced parents.
