Rick or "Ricky" Nelson was the son of band leader Ozzie Nelson and his wife Harriet, and he debuted on the 1949 radio version of the show "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet", which became a television sitcom in the 1950s. Nelson debuted as a singer on the TV version of the show in 1957, and went on to a recording career in which he landed a total of 53 tunes on the Billboard charts.

Some of his most popular tunes included "Poor Little Fool" (His first number one tune)"Travelin' Man", "Hello Mary Lou", and 1972's "Garden Party". Nelson also appeared in a number of feature films such as "Rio Bravo" (1959) and "The Wackiest Ship in the Army" (1960).

In 1966 he recorded a song called "The Men in My Little Girl's Life" which recounted the men in a daughter's life as she grows up, from father, to boyfriend and then husband. The song became a Top 40 single on the Billboard Hot 100 charts that year.

The music career didn't continue, but the TV show ran until 1982.

Comedian Steve Martin first came to our attention as a writer for The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour in the late 1960s. He also became a frequent guest on a number of late night variety shows, notably "The Tonight Show" (Johnny Carson). He made some appearances on "The Gong Show" and became a multiple time host on "Saturday Night Live".

In 1978 Martin teamed up with some members of The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band to record "King Tut" which peaked at number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and sold over one million copies.

His singing career didn't exactly take off but Martin's career as a comedian/actor continued and he has made frequent television and motion picture appearances over a career that spans 40+ years.

Subsequently, he had Top 10 hits such as "Don't Talk to Strangers", "Affair of the Heart" and "Love Somebody". Springfield acted on the soap opera from 1981 through 1983 and then returned to reprise his role from 2005 through 2008.
