Answer: Sherlock Holmes

Jeremy played the famous detective in the highly popular Granada series for nearly ten years from 1984-1994. Incidentally, he did also play Dracula in a stage production that ran from 1978-79 in the U.S, and did a screen test for the first James Bond movie.

Jeremy was Dr. Watson in "The Crucifer of Blood," an L.A. production that ran from 1980-81. Charlton Heston played Sherlock Holmes!

Answer: Peter Jeremy Huggins

He chose his stage name by combining his middle name and the name of the manufactorer of his only suit - 'Brett and Co.'

Jeremy had quite severe bi-polarism, and it is apparent when watching the second Sherlock Holmes series, "The Return of Sherlock Holmes," which ran from 1987-88. For example, on several episodes his normally slicked-back hair is butchered short, something he did to himself during one of his low points. Later in life, even as he was dying of heart failure, Jeremy was an outspoken supporter of various psychiatric charities.
