"Mona Lisa Smile" was released in the U.S. on December 19, 2003. It starred Julia Roberts as the main character, Katherine Watson, and co-starring, Kirsten Dunst, Julia Stiles and Maggie Gyllenhaal. The movie takes place in 1953 when a woman's status was determined on whom she married. Teaching at an all-girl school, Katherine Watson defied her superiors and taught her students to study to become successful, to help improve their futures and not to allow themselves to be suppressed in a man's society.

Along with Mike, (drums and keyboards), and Alex "Spanador" Moseley, (guitar and bass), Cult Jam became a success in the 1980s.

"Weird Science" is another John Hughes creation and was released in the U.S. on August 2, 1985.

It starred Kelly LeBrock as Lisa, Bill Paxton as Chet, Anthony Michael Hall as Gary, Ilan Mitchell-Smith as Wyatt and Robert Downey Jr. as Ian. Gary and Wyatt are two geeky guys who build their idea of the perfect woman on Wyatt's computer.

When an electrical storm strikes, lightning hits the house and suddenly, their perfect woman is standing in the doorway of the bathroom. Beautiful, sexy and smart, Lisa helps to boost Gary and Wyatt's self-esteem by putting them in awkward, but funny, situations, which in turn, causes them to be more attractive to girls their own age.

Lisa was fatally killed in a car crash on April 25, 2002 while in Honduras. During her time there, much of her life was filmed. A documentary on the final 26 days of her life, "The Last Days of Left Eye" premiered at the Atlanta Film Festival in April 2007. Much like a diary, she reflected on her personal life and career, with interests in numerology and yoga. The film also captured a car accident that she was involved in during filming, which killed a Honduran child with the last name of Lopez. She is seen in a local funeral home choosing a casket for the child.
