Answer: Hellboy

Son of Azazel and a mortal woman, Hellboy was rescued from the Nazis and raised as a normal boy by Professor Trevor "Broom" Bruttenholm. In 1952, Hellboy was granted "honorary human" status by the United Nations and began working for the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (BPRD), a private organization dedicated to combating occult threats.

He has appeared in comic books, films and video games. In the two "Hellboy" films, he was played appealingly by Ron Perlman.

DesDEMONa and OtHELLo are the characters. Throughout the course of the play, Shakespeare makes comparisons regarding Othello to an animal ("old black ram"), to a monster (jealousy is the "green-eyed monster"), to invoking devils as his morality declines.

After he discovers he has been led to misjudge his wife, whom he has murdered, Othello cries "Whip me, ye devils ... roast me in sulphur...wash me in steep-down gulfs of liquid fire!" The true villain of the story, Iago, is called a "demon" or a "devil" many times throughout the play.

Answer: Sweeney Todd

The story of Sweeney Todd has been told many times, perhaps most notably in Stephen Sondheim's 1979 Broadway hit musical, staring Angela Lansbury as Mrs. Lovett the pie maker, and in Tim Burton's film of the same name in 2007, starring Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter.

Todd first appeared as literary character in 1846 in a Victorian penny dreadful, serialized under the unlikely title "String of Pearls: A Romance"! It was immediately turned into a play and a full novel. There have been many rumors that this is based on a true story, though no evidence of a real life Todd exists.

Answer: Dr. Strange

Dr. Strange was a hero who succeeded his teacher, the Ancient One, in protecting Earth from magical and other dimensional threats. Dr. Strange and Dormammu were the brainchild of Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Dormammu was created as one of many opponents but calling him the Lord of the Dark Dimension generated so much fan interest that he was brought back and developed as a recurring opponent for Dr. Strange.

He was so popular that he has periodically appeared in a range of other Marvel comics in the decades since his introduction in 1964.

The others are super villains, not heroes, in the comic universe.

The poem was written by Mikhail Lermontov (1814-1841). He began writing the poem as a young teenager, and created several versions. The last of these was published after his death in 1842.

The poem and opera tell the sad tale of a love triangle between the Demon, Tamara, and Prince Sinodal.

Kane and The Undertaker wrestled together as "The Brothers of Destruction". In the 2001 "SummerSlam" they defeated Diamond Dallas Page and Kanyon to become the WCW and WWF Tag Team Champions.

"Kane", whose real name is Glenn Thomas Jacobs, is 6 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 325 pounds. He has won 18 total championships during his career.

This was a hit for the Charlie Daniels Band in 1979. Unlike most of these encounters with the devil throughout literature, film and song, the devil came out on the short end of the deal. The others were also popular tiles: "Great Balls of Fire" from Jerry Lee Lewis, "Sympathy for the Devil" from the Rolling Stones and "Dueling Banjos" from Arthur "Guitar Boogie" Smith. "Dueling Banjos" had its widest popularity when it was used, without permission, in the film "Deliverance".

Imagine Dragons formed in 2008. When "Demons" was released, the band members were Dan Reynolds, Daniel Wayne Sermon, Ben McKee and Daniel Platzman. The song was released as a single in 2013. The evocative song stayed in the Billboard Hot 100 for sixty-one weeks, twelve of those weeks in the top 10.

Robert Asprin authored the Myth Adventures series. After his death in 2008, Jody Lynn Nye has continued to author books in the series.

These hilarious books tell of the adventures of Aahz (Aahzmandius), a dimension traveler from Perv, and his apprentice (then partner) Skeeve. They travel on quests, meet some new interesting and sometimes scary folk, while Skeeve tries to learn magic.
