Former WWE legend Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka (1943-2017) became the promotion's first Heavyweight Champion during a house show on April 25, 1992.

Their victory was the result of a tournament between four teams which included The Night Breed (Max Thrasher and Glen Osbourne), The Flames (Mr. Anthony and Mr. Perez) and the team of J.T. Smith and Jimmy Jannetty.

The Super Destroyers also have the distinction of having the longest reign as ECW Tag Team Champions as their first reign lasted 283 days before they were defeated on April 2, 1993 by the team of Tony Stetson and Larry Winters.

Answer: Shane Douglas

ECW legend Shane Douglas won the ECW Heavyweight Championship at the promotion's "Ultimate Jeopardy" show on March 26, 1994. The main event was the Ultimate Jeopardy match which pitted eight contenders in a massive steel cage elimination match. During Shane Douglas' reign as champion ECW changed its name from Eastern Championship Wrestling to Extreme Championship Wrestling which became official on August 27, 1994. ECW left the NWA and all their titles from then on would include World as part of the title's name. Shane Douglas held the title for 385 days total before losing it to The Sandman on April 15, 1995.
5. Which ECW legend won the ECW World Television Championship in 1998 and held it for 700 days, the longest single reign of any ECW championship?

Answer: Rob Van Dam

Rob Van Dam won the ECW World Television Championship at a televised event on April 4, 1998 after defeating the previous champion, the late Bam Bam Bigelow (1961-2007). RVD held the title for 700 days and may have held it even longer if he had not gotten injured during his reign.

He was forced to vacate the title on March 4, 2000 and it was later won by Super Crazy at the "Living Dangerously" pay-per-view event on March 12, 2000.
6. Which team won the ECW World Tag Team Championship eight times during their tenure with the company?

Answer: The Dudley Boyz

Tag Team legends Buh Buh Ray and D-Von, aka The Dudley Boyz, won their first ECW World Tag Team Championship during a house show on March 15, 1997. They later won their eighth and final ECW World Tag Team Championship at "The Last Show at the Madhouse" event, which was held on August 26, 1999 where they won the titles from the team of Spike Dudley and the late Balls Mahoney (1972-2016).

They lost the titles that same night to the team of Tommy Dreamer and Raven. The Dudley Boyz left ECW for WWF/WWE and later TNA (Total Nonstop Action Wrestling) where they went on to claim over a dozen more tag team titles.
7. What was the name of an unofficial title created by ECW legend Taz in 1998? It was revived at AEW (All Elite Wrestling) in 2020.

Answer: FTW Championship

The FTW Championship (the full name is NSFW) is an unofficial wrestling title created and owned by former ECW wrestler Taz. The title made its debut at an ECW live event titled "It Ain't Seinfeld", which was held on May 14, 1998. It was introduced by Taz after he kept missing out on important matches, especially those for the ECW World Heavyweight Championship due to legit and/or kayfabe illness or injuries.

The title was discontinued on March 21, 1999. The FTW Championship made its return at AEW's "Fyter Fest" event on July 2, 2020, where Taz awarded the title to Brian Cage as part of a storyline involving the AEW World Championship.
8. Who was the last wrestler to hold both the ECW World Television Championship and ECW World Heavyweight Championship prior to ECW's folding in 2001?

Answer: Rhino

ECW legend Rhino won the ECW World Television Championship during a televised match against Kid Kash on September 9, 2000. Rhino later captured the ECW World Heavyweight Championship from The Sandman at ECW's "Guilty as Charged" pay-per-view on January 7, 2001. Rhino went on to hold both titles at the same time until Extreme Championship Wrestling was shut down due to bankruptcy on April 4, 2001.
9. Who was awarded the ECW World Heavyweight Championship when it was revived by the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) in 2006?

Answer: Rob Van Dam

The ECW World Heavyweight Championship was reactivated by the WWE after they had purchased what remained of ECW's assets in 2001. Many of ECW's talent ended up getting hired by the WWE. Following the success of the first "ECW One Night Stand" pay-per-view on June 12, 2005, WWE decided to revive ECW as the promotion's third major brand alongside "Raw" and "Smackdown". Former ECW promoter Paul Heyman awarded the ECW World Heavyweight Championship to Rob Van Dam on the first episode of the new ECW on June 13, 2006.

This was done after RVD had captured the WWE Heavyweight Championship from John Cena at the second "ECW One Night Stand" pay-per-view, which made him a dual champion.
10. Christian was the last wrestler to hold the ECW World Heavyweight Championship in the WWE before it was permanently retired in 2010.

Answer: False

WWE's version of ECW did not last too long. While the brand started off hot, interest began to fade as WWE's version of ECW failed to connect with fans of the original promotion. The last episode of ECW under the WWE banner aired on February 16, 2010.

The brand's final event featured an Extreme Rules match for the ECW World Heavyweight Championship. Ezekiel Jackson defeated Christian to win the title making him the last ECW World Heavyweight Champion. The title was permanently deactivated after the show.
