2. In 1969, promoter Jim Barnett aligned with which American organisation?

Answer: N.W.A.

Even though WWWF champion, Bruno Sammartino, toured here in 1966, and a great deal of the imported talent came from WWWF. Barnett formed a loose deal with San Francisco (and N.W.A.) promoter , Roy Shire.

Answer: Ron Miller

Miller held the Austro-Asian title from the start of 1976, and was still in possession when the promotion closed in December 1978. O'Day held the TV title, Barnes held the Brass Knucks title, and Heffernan never held any title in Australia!

Answer: Jimmy Hannan

Cleary was a star athlete in Commonwealth Games, and later a politician. Whitten was a legendary AFL footballer. Jennings was an impressionist (had a top 40 record with 'The Bob Hawke Drinking Song'!), and now writes children's books.

Spiros used the Bear Hug until around 1972, then the Atomic Drop. The other moves were finishers of his friends Mario Milano (Stretch), King Curtis (Splash), and Mark Lewin (Sleeper).

Kox was, as the storyline went, brought in by Big Bad John to fight the 'People's Army' of Lewin, Arion, Curtis etc., but sided with the good guys after 'he promised his mother on her deathbed that he would mend his ways'. Classic stuff!

Answer: 9

The Nine Network gave life to wrestling in Australia back then, and ultimately took that life away when they decided to cancel broadcasts at the end of 1978.
