Bouncing Boy is one of several Legionnaires that were born and raised on Earth, and whose powers have no correlation to his planet of origin.

Created in 1961, Bouncing Boy first lost his powers in 'Adventure Comics' #321 (1964). They were fully restored in 'Adventure Comics' #351 (1966). He lost his powers a second time in 'Superboy' #200 (1974). Once again they were eventually restored in 'Superboy' #230 (1977).

During his two periods of power loss, he experienced moments of temporary power restoration, attempting to find a cure, but they never lasted more than a few moments, and never long enough to have the Legion consider returning him to active duty.

Bouncing Boy and Duo Damsel were the first Legion members to marry. The Legion Constitution originally forbid full time members from being married.
