Together they travel to the lost world of Magrathea, where it turns out that Earth was originally constructed as a giant computer to solve the meaning of life for pan dimensional being that had taken the form of mice.

The Radio play and it's sequel were both adapted by Adam into a five part "trilogy, entitled "The Restaurant at the End of the Universe", "Life, the Universe and Everything", "So Long, and Thanks for all the Fish", and "Mostly Harmless", all of which took their titles from quotes in "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy".

Pantomimes are a blend of comedy, dance and music, with its roots being traced back to 16th century Italy. The modern pantomime though began to develop in the 19th century into what viewed by audiences today.

Amongst the various quirks of pantomime are a "Dame" played by an actor and a "Principal Boy" that traditionally was played by an actress. However, some modern productions now use an actor to play that role. In addition, there is often frequent use of "double entendre", phrases that have two meanings and audience participation.
