1. Home to Archie Andrews and his gang of friends.

Answer: Riverdale

First created in 1941, the Archie Andrews comic franchise later also spawned radio and television series. The comic follows a gang of high school students at Riverdale High. The main character, Archie Andrews, is a regular guy who for some reason has two of the best looking girls, Betty and Veronica, fighting for his affections.

The series also had other memorable characters including the teachers at Riverdale High, parents of the main gang members, and others encountered at their regular hangout, Pop Tates.
2. Girl sleuth Nancy Drew lives here.

Answer: River Heights

Published under the pseudonym Carolyn Keene, the "Nancy Drew" series was ghostwritten by a number of different authors. The concept was created by publisher Edward Stratemeyer who also had the "Hardy Boys" series ghostwritten under the pseudonym Franklin W. Dixon.

Nancy was teenage girl who found herself in the middle of mysterious situations. Along with her friends, Bess and George, and boyfriend, Ned, she was able to solve mysteries ranging from missing jewels to long lost heirs. The stories were mainly set in the fictional city of River Heights where Nancy lived with her father, Carson Drew, who was a lawyer, and their longtime housekeeper, Hannah. The original mysteries had an old-school appeal to them with the cases more in the form of puzzles and limited violence in the books.
3. City protected by Batman.

Answer: Gotham

Gotham City is the fictional home of the superhero, Batman. It draws heavily from the real life city of New York. The scenes in the Batman movies and television series have been filmed at various locations including New York, Chicago, and Detroit. Incidentally, in the nineteenth century, Gotham was a popular nickname for New York. Orphaned at a young age, Batman uses his wealth to help protect the city of Gotham from negative forces.

Stephen King is a bestselling author of fiction, mainly horror stories. Born and raised in Maine, he has created a fictional setting called Castle Rock, which is based on real life locations in Maine, for most of his works. It first appeared in his 1979 novel, "The Dead Zone". King also created two other fictional towns set in Maine - Derry and Jerusalem's Lot, which have also been used in multiple works.
5. Setting for the teen drama "Dawson's Creek".

Answer: Capeside

Spanning six seasons from 1998 to 2003, "Dawson's Creek" was a teen drama revolving around the lives of a group of friends in high school. James Van Der Beek starred as Dawson Leery while Katie Holmes played his best friend Joey Potter. The show was set in a fictional town called Capeside in Massachusetts. Most of the series was filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina.
6. City-state in the "Discworld" series that is modelled on 18th century London.

Answer: Ankh-Morpork

In a fantasy series created by Terry Pratchett, the "Discworld" is a fictional world comprising a flat disc carried on the backs of four elephants who themselves are standing on the back of a turtle. Pratchett takes popular fairy tale and fictional cliches and parodies them throughout the series with many common tropes turned on their heads. Ankh-Morpork is one of the many fictional locations on the Discworld.

It is a city-state and most of the storylines involving it revolve around the City Watch and more urban problems.
7. Mia Thermopolis was heir to the throne of this kingdom.

Answer: Genovia

The 2001 movie "The Princess Diaries" was based on Meg Cabot's novel of the same name. The plot followed a teenage girl, Mia Thermopolis, who suddenly finds out that she's the heir to the European kingdom of Genovia. Her grandmother, the current queen, undertakes to groom her so that she is found fit to one day rule the kingdom. Mia was played by Anne Hathaway while veteran Julie Andrews played her grandmother, the Queen.

The success of the movie resulted in a sequel called "The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement" which released in 2004.
8. Land inhabited by tiny people.

Answer: Lilliput

Popularly known as "Gulliver's Travels", the full name of the book is actually "Travels into Several Remote Nations of the World. In Four Parts. By Lemuel Gulliver, First a Surgeon, and then a Captain of Several Ships"! What a mouthful!

In this book by Jonathan Swift, the titular character, Gulliver, travels to different lands. One of these is Lilliput, an island country whose inhabitants are only six inches tall. Another land he visits is Brobdingnag, where the people are like giants towering over him at a height of 70 feet!
9. Capital of the Land of Oz.

Answer: Emerald City

L. Frank Baum's book "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" spawned adaptations across various mediums - film, television and the stage. The story begins when a young girl, Dorothy Gale, is caught in a tornado and transported to the Land of Oz. In order to find her way back home, she has to follow the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City and request the help of the Wizard of Oz. With her dog, Toto, for company, Dorothy meets other characters like the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion on her journey.
10. Agatha Christie's spinster sleuth, Miss Marple, calls this home.

Answer: St. Mary Mead

Agatha Christie's Miss Jane Marple, is an elderly spinster, who uses her experience and knowledge of human behaviour to solve mysteries. The first novel in which she appeared was "The Murder at the Vicarage" which was published in 1930. The novel was set in St. Mary Mead, the fictional English village where Miss Marple lived.
