During their match at "The Great American Bash" 2004 Pay Per View, Sable faked a head injury to get the upper advantage. Sable then gave Torrie Wilson a "School Girl Roll-up" to get the victory.

The referee counted the three, even though Torrie Wilson's shoulders were not on the canvas. This caused a whole lot of controversy and Torrie Wilson wanted revenge on Sable a few days later on "Smackdown".

They faced off in a Diva's Match and Torrie Wilson won the match after a "Sunset Flip".

As a result, Eddie Guerrero retained the title.

A few nights later on "Smackdown", it was announced that John "Bradshaw" Layfield will face Eddie Guerrero in a rematch for the WWE Championship and the match stipulation would be picked by John "Bradshaw" Layfield and the match would take place at "The Great American Bash 2004" Pay Per View.

A few weeks later on "Smackdown", John "Bradshaw" Layfield announced that he'll challenge Eddie Guerrero for the WWE Championship in a Texas Bullrope Match. The match was made official and the two would meet in this dangerous match at "The Great American Bash" 2004 Pay Per View. John "Bradshaw" Layfield became the new WWE Champion at "The Great American Bash" 2004 Pay Per View, by touching all four corners before Eddie Guerrero. The match was originally won by Eddie Guerrero, by John "Bradshaw" Layfield's shoudler touched the last corner before Eddie Guerrero's hand did and the match was awarded to John "Bradshaw" Layfield by "Smackdown" General Manager, Kurt Angle.

Undertaker walked over to him and he gave him the symbol of rest in peace. Undertaker then pulled the handle down and the crypt started filling with cement with Paul Bearer inside. Paul Bearer was then covered with cement and was never seen on "Smackdown" again. Undertaker's music then played and he walked to the backstage area with a smile on Paul Heyman's face, and then "The Great American Bash" 2004 Pay Per View went off the air and was then recorded into the history books.
