Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What song was Bert singing in the tub at the beginning?

Answer: Yankee Doodle

He was singing "Yankee Doodle" whilst exclaiming how much he enjoys his bath. This gave Ernie the idea to come in and join him in singing.
2. What musical instrument did Ernie bring into the bathroom with him?

Answer: piano

Ernie managed to shove their piano into the bathroom to start the sing-along, much to Bert's dismay, then start playing it and trying to convince Bert to sing along, which Bert kept resisting, though he was actually singing it the whole time.
3. Which male human member of the cast was the first to join them?

Answer: David

Just as Bert was going to get Ernie and the piano out of the bathroom, someone knocked on the bathroom door. That someone was David. Gordon followed with a bass fiddle. Then Bob entered and complemented on the acoustics. After that, Luis, Maria, and Olivia joined.
4. After "Old MacDonald" was sung, what did Bert start futilely asking for until the end of the record?

Answer: a towel

Bert, after "I've Been Working on the Railroad" and "Old MacDonald" was sung, decided to end his bath and started asking to get a towel, but either people ignored him or could not access one. Therefore, poor Bert spent the whole time sitting and basically shivering in the bathtub.
5. By the time The Count finally ended his song, how many bats were hanging in the steeple?

Answer: 604

The Count came in and sang a song called "Bats in My Belfry" where he kept repeating the same verse adding more and more bats. When he got up to five, he was thrown into the shower to stop singing. He later reemerged claiming to have a limerick for "The Limerick Song", only to continue singing his song (and was up to 85 bats), but was thrown back in the shower.

He then claimed he knew what song was the topic of "What's The Name of That Song?" but sang "six-hundred-and-four bats hanging in the steeple", and was booed by everyone.
6. Grover, Cookie Monster, and Herry Monster did a rounder of what popular song?

Answer: Row, Row, Row Your Boat

Grover, Herry, and Cookie come rolling into the bathroom and the sing-along on Herry's motorcycle and sidecar. (How it managed to fit in the bathroom with everything and everybody else in there is a mystery.)
After that, Grover, playing banjo, Cookie, playing a bass drum, and Herry apparently playing a gong (which isn't heard), do a rather pathetic rounder of "Row, Row, Row Your Boat", that ends abruptly when they end up falling on top of one another somehow.
7. How many different moves were done in David's "A Very Simple Dance"?

Answer: 8

As the song goes: "Clap your hands, stomp your feet, turn around, touch your toes, pull your ears, flap your arms, stretch up high, and all fall down. It's a very simple dance to do."
8. Cookie Monster sang "C is for Cookie" on the album.

Answer: True

A rather jacked up version of the original singing of the song, which included him mentioning how a round cookie, a round donut and sometimes the moon all look like the letter C. Then he ended the song by eating all the cookies.
9. When he sang "Sing", was that the only time Bert sang on the whole album?

Answer: No

He sang with Ernie on the first song, "I Refuse to Sing Along", then did a limerick to end "The Limerick Song", and joined in a little on "What's The Name of That Song?", then finally belted out "Sing" at the end along with everybody else.
10. Which college's marching band was playing "Stars and Stripes Forever" at the end of the album?

Answer: University of Michigan

After they ended the song "Sing", we hear a marching band in the distance. That's when Ernie remembers he invited the Michigan Marching Band. The door to the bathroom opens and you can hear them much more clearly and everyone voices their delight, and even Bert gets into it, as marching music is his favorite.

It is assumed the Michigan Marching Band was invited because the University of Michigan is Bob McGrath's (Bob) alma mater.
