A firemen is finally able to get him out, when Galleria and other girls start singing, to make him move more.

Galleria and her friends were walking down the hall and Derek and his friend Mackerel stopped them and called them the Elephant Girls and made elephant sounds and movements. The day of the auditions Dorinda went in between all the dancers to help them with the dance routines. After the audition was over the man who was directing the auditions said he liked the way Dorinda danced and asked her to join the other dancers on their summer Gold Medal Crew tour.

When the newspaper asked them if they could do a story on them Galleria took all their information to the newspaper but it was mainly on Galleria. After school the other three girls that were part of the group took down a yellow flyer that said "Sick of Cheetah? Click on chompcheetah.com".

After Galleria's dog Toto was rescued from the gas hole, everybody started to leave. Derek went up to talk to Galleria and told her that she had been right to walk away from Jackel's offering but now she had to make a decision. He asked her if it was right for her to walk away from her friends. Earlier on in the movie he had sat beside her in the school auditorium, while she told him about the break up of the Cheetah Girls because of Jackel Johnson's deal.

He told her that sometimes you had to walk alone.

After the girls got done singing their song at the end of the movie, Derek went up on the platform that the girls were standing on and kissed Galleria once. The Cheetah Girls ended up winning the talent show that they had tried out for. Because of Jackel wanting to record their music on the day of the talent show, they didn't get to perform until after Toto was rescued.

The song "Cheetah Sisters" was the song that brought them back together as friends.
